Runs very small. I measured per the instructions and ordered the corresponding size (small) but what arrived looks like a child's mitten. I can barely fit my hand in it , the mitten is so small and tight, and the thumbs in both mittens are so tight that you cannot readily insert your thumb. Must return.

Q: How do you measure you're hands to order the right size mitts?

wrap a measuring tape or tape measure around the palm of your hand: above your thumb joint and below your pinky joint. Foxriver site lists: 7-7.5" small, 8-8" inch medium, 9-9.5" large. Dont assume you have "average" hand size.

Q: Anyone have experience with washing these - if so, do they shrink?

We have washed these mittens in the washer in cold water and even dried them at least part way in the lowest heat setting on the dryer. They do not seem to shrink.
