20 Rock And Roll Stars with more than 240 songs from the years 1950 To 1960. When the music industry has been overwhelmed by the success of the new music called rock'n'roll six decades ago, wanted every possible record company have their own Elvis Presley. Even country artists such as Marty Robbins tried their luck with rock rhythms resounded from all Musikkboxen in the 1950s. In addition to the widespread vinyl single plates, each with a song on one side there was LPs, mostly contained twelve tracks. This box combines today priceless debut albums of many young musicians, who stars in the rock'n'roll scene were later like Buddy Holly, Eddie Cochran, Gene Vincent and Jerry Lee Lewis. Show more than 240 titles, how versatile the teenage music was at the time: Chuck Berry's elegant own compositions on Jerry Lee Lewis wild piano boogie to Elvis tearjerker and instrumentals of guitarist Duane Eddy, or combo Johnny and the Hurricanes. Interesting to hear is not only, as Bill Haley builds a musical bridge from country to rock and roll, but also how different artists interpret a song: On these CDs we hear Carl Perkins' Blue suede shoes "and Little Richard" Tutti Frutti "in the version of the young Elvis, who in contrast to Fats Domino and other stars never written your own title. As Chubby Checker calling for twisting just before the Beatles-era rock and roll had his wedding already behind him and about the unknown Beatles and Rolling Stones availed themselves vigorously from the collection of Rockin 'Fifties. This box offers the best of world famous artists such as Ricky Nelson, Wanda Jackson and Cliff Richard, who in England career started as Elvis imitators that continues to this day.

Really happy with this special set of debut albums
This is a unique collection. It doesn't go for the big hits, rather it presents the first album by an important list of greats. There's something very special about hearing how each of these artists got their start. As time passes, so many musicians are left with only greatest hit albums. I believe the approach in this set is a better way to know the artist- some great tracks, some not-so-great, and a bunch of tracks somewhere in between. The sound quality is as good as anything I've heard from this era. No complaints on the sound at all.In sum, I am very pleased to get an opportunity to hear the debut album by such a list of greats and can easily recommend this set to anyone interested in artists from this time period.

I have a great idea for the company
Just Outstanding.I accept the criticism of the Cliff album which was (and is to my ears) continuous and rather irritating. But, guys, you all have this already! But the rest are outstanding albums by US artists; at least three wrote all or part of their material long before Beatlemania made that important. I have a great idea for the company. "20 Second albums" by the same people. To avoid offending Cliff fans you could throw in the Everlies instead. In those days albums were often regarded as rapidly recorded efforts to cash in on the all important singles sales but most of these tracks are amazingly good. Album of the year for me!

Ooh Poo Pah Doo Shimmy
An absolute bargain of a box set. I mean, how can you go wrong when it does exactly what it says on the tin. Now I know you can pick up box sets of rock'n'roll hits for tuppence ha'penny, but it's always the same songs. Get this instead and you catch up with some amazing album tracks you might never have heard before. And did I mention it's twenty (20) albums on 10 CDs! I'm still recovering from that while doing the Ooh Poo Pah Doo Shimmy. Amazing.

A Bargain - 20 First Albums on 10 CD's with Great Sound and Well Presented in Compact CD Box
Great concept, 20 first albums from most of the key Rock and Roll artists. Sound quality overall (in HiFi terms) absolutely brilliant, most tracks in high quality Mono, some in Stereo (including a couple of Duane Eddy that sound great), with only a few in the dreaded mono processed to stereo. It is refreshing to hear some seldom heard performances of a variety of musical styles, which litter these CDs. At around £10 for 20 albums on 10 CDs in a well presented and compact box - an absolute bargain. Let's hope this idea is extended to other genres and musical eras.

Many tracks not original.
Many of the tracks are not the same as those on the original LP’s. Some of the live recordings that have been used are low quality, very disappointed……
