No discernable difference in appearance
The ball applicator for this thin, clear gel is surprisingly cooling, but the claims of instant improvement failed to materialize. Even longer use was disappointing. It's not horrible and didn't cause any negative reaction, but it also did not live up to its claims. The very first time I used it, I saw a slight improvement in appearance when the puffiness under my eyes in the morning seemed to increase slightly (maybe from the caffeine ingredient?), giving the illusion that the skin was firmer.Over the next several days, I would try combinations of my regular eye moisturizer ( Acure Organics, Eye Cream, Chlorella + Edelweiss Stem Cell, 1 fl oz (30 ml) by Acure Organics ) under one eye and this CW Beggs eye gel under the other, or this gel under one eye and nothing at all under the other. The CW Beggs product would rub in and disappear OK, but that's about it. No other improvement. With the roller ball applicator, I wouldn't even give it away to a friend, as the tube contents would have been exposed to contamination from my own skin. Mild improvement....
I confess, I didn’t really expect CW Beggs and Sons Energizing Eye Gel to work. And, surprisingly, I am getting results. Not large, earth-shattering results, but, nevertheless, a visible difference.I put the roll-on gel under only my left eye for a week, then asked my family if they could discern a difference. And the reply was “The left eye is slightly better. It’s less dark and the area under the eye is a bit tighter.” (Note the emphasis on ‘slightly’ and ‘a bit.’) It’s not a big difference.I can’t explain why it works (caffeine? oat extract?) I do know that a cold metal roller covered in gel does tighten the skin around eyes. That’s why using a cold cloth to relieve teary or hung-over eyes seems to help. And Beggs does suggest using their product throughout the day.I’m going with four stars through sheer surprise that I’m getting any results at all.

Rollerball applicator is neat. Zero visible change after ten days
The description on this eye gel says "instantly" and that's just nonsense. This isn't any different than most other eye gels on the market with regards to results. It's a tube with a metal roller ball contraption for application and that is actually a nice idea - no more sticking your fingers in a jar of goo.It does roll on smoothly and feels cool immediately and there aren't any fumes wafting up to cause eye irritation. However, after ten days of daily use, there is zero visible improvement. The middle age under eye puffiness still exists and the dark circles after a bad night don't diminish after using this gel. We'll stick to our regular gel from Loreal instead.

Doesn't help with under-eye bags
I am one of those unlucky people who always have bags under my eyes. Nothing I uses really seems to help, so I thought I would try this when it came up for review.I had no idea this brand was marketed toward men. Obviously, it doesn't really matter that I'm female; it should still work. But it didn't.I agree with other reviewers who said this claim - "Instantly minimizes signs of fatigue" - isn't true. There was nothing instant. It didn't cause me any problems or issues, which is good, but it didn't help at all. Same bags, same puffiness, same darkness under my eyes. Which is disappointing.I kinda like the roller - it feels nice when I roll the gel on. It's just a bummer that it doesn't do what it claims it will.

Great steel rollerball applicator. Leaves eye contour skin soft and moisturized.
As a middle-aged guy, I'm the perfect audience for this energizing eye gel for men. The product contains caffeine, algae extract, oat extract, and a mineral complex. Application is straight-forward: turn the bottle over to put some gel on the steel rollerball, then roll it over your eye contours. The application is comfortable; it doesn't deposit too much or too little, and it doesn't burn, cause redness, or lead to any tearing. It leaves my skin feeling soft and well moisturized. I haven't noticed any significant alteration of the skin around my eyes - wrinkling and dusky appearance looks about the same. I honestly don't expect a skin product to lead to a dramatic change in just a few weeks, and given the comfort of the product and ease of application, I'll keep using it. If I receive any comments about how much more youthful I look, I'll add an addendum to my review.
