This cookbook had been reviewed by eight customers (one of whom wrote a review BEFORE receiving the book!). Those who had received the book gave it five stars, so I felt confident buying it, thinking there must be some truly special recipes or techniques for freezing included. I don't know if the 8 people are friends of Ms. Rosenthal or not, but I'm amazed anyone could give this book three, four, or five stars. There is absolutely nothing in this book that is worth paying for if you're thinking the recipes are specific to freezing. I'm not saying the recipes are bad, they just aren't special. If you want recipes for such basics as biscuits, jams, quiches, granola, waffles, French toast, smoothies, banana bread, muffins, sticky buns, scones, breakfast sandwiches, breakfast burritos, Mexican rice, mashed potatoes,cranberry relish, soups, roasted chicken, tacos, tomato sauce, ice cream!, etc., etc., this may tickle your fancy. If you are a new cook, get a copy of The Joy of Cooking, the most recent or even the last three editions, and you will have many, many more recipes, and wonderful information about freezing foods. If you are a seasoned cook, (yes, I did ;o ) you know how to make every recipe in the book. My copy is on it's way to a thrift shop as soon as I post this review.
