Amertac #CSG1 White Switch Guard (pack of 12)

This is a gaggle of these switch guards . . . and they work great.-- a "standard" screw head recesses into the guard nicely-- for me, the screws that were in the original plates were long enough I didn't need new screws-- this allows for using the switch when needed through the side . . . EXCELLENT! (not for baby proofing tho!)-- These are WHITE (not off white) . . . look a little funny on an ivory switch cover . . . perfect on a WHITE cover.For "semi-permanent" locks . . . use this switch guard:  National Mfg. 280842 Switch Lock I use this on a switch which controls a light to which I have attached a motion sensor. It keeps the switch "guarded" from accidental switching . . . but allows ultimate control when needed.

With my recent addition to Alexa and the Hue bulbs these are great to give a reminder to the kids not to turn off the lights with the switch but to ask Alexa to do it. When the lights are shut off manually Alexa is unable to turn them on or adjust the dimness. You can still get to the switch if you should need to, like if Alexa is being ornery or the wifi is out. They are very easy to install by removing the screws holding your switch plate to the wall and inserting the screws first through the guard before reattaching the plate.

Does not actually block the switch or lock the switch itself in place. In less than 30 hours, my solution for the constant disruption to my Wink system with adult children using switches - not the app or wall controls - was shot to pieces. Watched the them reach right in and use the switch again without any difficulty. Complete waste of time and money.

Does NOT keep someone from using the switch. These are worthless.
