This study focuses on the positive aspects of dealing with your own ethnic identity
This Biblically-based study on how to navigate personal and group ethnic identities provides approaches for coming to a healthy relationship with one's own ethnic identity (even those of us who don't feel like we have one). It provides tools for understanding how we can come together as persons from different backgrounds and see the beauty and strength in each background. In a time of heightened tensions, this study comes as a balm for reconciliation.

Not for me
My church used this book to lead an adult Sunday school class. A few people seemed to enjoy sharing their experiences (although not necessarily on point), but I had to bow out. I did not agree with the author around the interpretation of scripture used to make their points. I felt the author really took verses out of context, and so basically disagreed with the premise of the book based on that.

Best Bible Study for our country on race right now!
Loved this book and can’t wait for his next one. If you’re looking for a book study that will press people together instead of apart when it comes to race and faith, then this is the one for you. Full of scripture, discussion questions and so much potential I think this will be a go-to for the next decade
