Worth every penny - FIVE STARS PLUS
We have two dogs - a very, very large big-boned Labrador and a Belgium Shepherd. Our lab desperately needed to drop some weight as he was weighing in at 130+ pounds and was starting to have some hip problems. Although neither dog ate very much, we knew we had to do something soon. After trying all available weight management foods from the local stores, we decided to give the Gluten-free Core Weight Mgmt food a try. After 6 weeks of one small bowl of the dry and 1/2 can of the wet twice a day, both dogs have lost significantly in inches. As we are unable to weigh the dogs at home - we have been measuring their chests, waists, and butts. Our lab has lost two inches around his belly and his butt. Gonna have to tighten up both their collars up as they are now very loose. As far as taste - they love the food. We have never seen them tackle any other brands with as much enthusiasm as they do the Wellness Core. Cost is high but so are vet bills - hopefully after a few months we can consider more of a maintenance program rather than a weight loss one. Definitely FIVE STARS PLUS.

Great Discovery For Our Household!
I have four dachshunds, ages from one year to thirteen years. I started feeding them Core about a year ago and the change has been remarkable to say the least. I use the puppy, adult and weight management. I started using the puppy for both my oldest dog and the new puppy. Now the puppy is on the regular formula, the oldest is still on the puppy formula as she needs the extra nutrition, the twelve year old and the ten year old are on the weight management food. The ten year old has been diagnosed with Cushings Syndrome and he is thriving on the Core. He really loves it so he takes his medication with no problems. Their coats are better by far, even the groomer has noticed the difference. The vet is very pleased with the change in my oldest dog, she has much more energy and has gained a little weight. My twelve year old male has stopped having trouble with his ears which was thought to be an allergy to grain. I will never use anything else again!

Our dogs with sensitive tummies can enjoy their meals again.
My two dogs with sensitive tummies: an english springer mix and a chihuahua (rescues). We tried the 'best, holistic, natural' foods over the years and they suffered with gas or worse. The vet then put them on prescription diets which they both hated, their coats did not look as shiny as they should, they were sluggish and they had issues with constipation. This dog food was recommended by a friend. The girls eat the canned and dry. They love it and their fur and skin look great again. Since it's reduced fat the dry and canned combination work well, we can keep an eye on their weight and they don't starve between meals. Now it took about a month to see the improvements on the girls. This is not the cheapest food but the combined prices of the canned and dry for both girls costs a lot less than the canned and dry prescription foods. I only wish the cans had the easy tab lids.

Dogs like it
The dogs like it and Wellness seems to be a good quality food. We use it as an addition to their dry food to flavor it up. I really wish these were pull top, that would make these so much easier to use.

Beagle Approved!
My dogs tend to get chunky rather easily if weโre not careful with what we feed. They gobble this food, the ingredients are healthy, and coupled with exercise it has steadily helped them maintain a healthy weight.

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED
My pets love Wellness and now that they are older and not as active it was great to find this weight control product. I use the can food mixed with the Core dry food. It gives my dogs a little variety. The product is USA made with nothing imported. Call Wellness customer service and ask any questions, they are more than happy to help you. I recommend this highly, for two reasons. My pets love it and I do not have to worry what is in the product.

Wellness leads to Sickness
My dog was on this food for a little over a year, both canned and dry. I purchased it because it was both grain free and weight management. At first everything was okay, but then my dog started having problems. He started drinking massive amounts of water. I called the Wellness company to find out the sodium level of the food. They said there was no salt in the food. Then his hair started falling out, which we thought was due to his senior status. Then he became very bloated and gassy, yet I still did not consider that the food was the problem. I took him to the vet and she put him on a round of medication for his stomach problem. Because of his patchy hair loss, the doctor also thought he might have hypothyroid disease. The medication made the gas better initially but it came back worse than ever. I could barely stand to be in the same room with him -- it was so bad that I had to sleep with a can of Glade on the nightstand, and I had to put a blob of Vicks under my nose like a scene from Silence of the Lambs! Then he stopped eating. I took him back to the vet and we began a round of expensive tests. They found blood in his intestines. The doctor gave him another week of medication and switched him to a different food from the Hills company. Within a few days, the bloating and gas stopped. After a month on the new food, his hair grew back. He is more alert and obviously feels so much better. He is drinking normal amounts of water. We were using Wellness Core Grain Free in cans and Wellness small bites weight management dry food. The canned food reeks of dead fish, so I had to carry the empty cans out to the garbage so my kitchen wouldn't smell like I was hiding a corpse! Never again will I purchase this company's products. They took a healthy dog and made him sick. It also cost us about $500 at the vet! If we had continued to feed him Wellness, our precious fur baby would be dead now. Now we know that just because pet food doesn't contain grain or tons of fat doesn't mean it's not lethal. BUYER BEWARE!

Wellness CORE low-fat/weight management canned food seems to be working well for my dog after she had a bout of pancreatitis. My dog loves the food and even lost some weight, which is a huge plus. However, finding cans that aren't badly dented is a challenge, even when shopping big-name brick and mortar pet stores. I seem to get fewer dented cans from Amazon and the price is better. I have noticed more jelly-like "gunk" in the cans lately. I scrape it off before feeding my dog. I'm not sure if the recipe changed or if they're adding some kind of filler, but I'm not happy about the changes. However, as long as my dog likes it and continues to do well, I'll keep buying it.

He does not like to eat same taste all the time
May be this is my dog's problem. He does not like to eat same taste all the time. So after 2 cans, I have to stop it and give him something else and again after few days start it again. It would be great if this weight management cans have different tastes!

its a very good food, supposed to be rly good for your dog, my dog liked it but got sick of it really quick, also seems to have a lil bit of coloring in it as it stains my dogs coat where she licks after she eats.
