Klasse Wright
Tolles Buch über tolle Architektur. Hier ist nichts spektakulär, dramatisch oder sonstwie hoch emotional. Hier ist alles sehr gut, bestens und besticht dadurch. Ja klasse.

Nice paperback
I put this book on my coffee table, after visiting this house in Arkansas, since you could not take photos inside.

A Museum brochure/booklet
I have quiet an interest in this design by Frank Lloyd Wright, as it is part of a series of similar designs including; Eric V Brown house, Harold Price Jr House, Louis Penfield house and projects unbuilt ; Berdan house, McCullum House , Rentz house , Ellinwood house . Thus I was looking forward to rather detailed insight into its design, original construction (1950's), deconstruction and reconstruction (2000's).However this book reads like a booklet produced for a museum a highly glossy overview. It covers the face value of the building , with some really nice photographs and 3 drawings - a ground level 3d rendering, a basic GF plan, an original GF plan blueprint, a GF plan sketch plan - thats it - NO upper floor plan, sections, elevations, detail drawing or the like - which I found disappointing. There are 5 photos of the original construction, 5 photos of the deconstruction, 7 photos of the reconstruction onto the new site and 31 photos of the finished building in its new setting. There is in interesting chapter on the commissioning owners, and a a chapter on the subsequent owners, including the restoration work by the architect/owners - who ought to be commended for their preservation efforts.Given that this building was fully documented by the restoring Architects, I was hoping for a lot more drawings, more details about the design and how it follows FLW organic principles, in particular his unit selection - how the proportions are developed from this. Maybe the restoration Architects need to produce a more detailed book.I gave 3 stars because it is a high quality production - but lack any real detail of the actual buildings construction. Its a nice addition to my FLW collection.
