Adversarial Light: Magick of the Nephilim

Absolutely recommend!
Adversarial light starts a bit slow, but the information is based in good, meaty research that acts as a great springboard into further research. I found myself constantly bouncing between the book and google to learn more. The various rituals are an open enough framework to adapt to your own ritual style, while also being complete enough to act as a map for beginners who don't have their own ritual style yet. Ford gets a lot of flak for a lack of editing, and I noticed it mentioned in the reviews here, but any mistakes here were extremely minor, and I didn't even notice any glaring ones. I wonder if I read a newer edition that was fixed?I've read several of his works and he continues to be an excellent source of extremely varied information, bringing a wealth of occult knowledge into the hands of anyone with the interest. If you aren't sure what path you're wanting to walk, any of Fords books are a great way to get introduced to the terms and concepts you will need to understand to get started in the LHP.

All the other critiques I've read about this are valid.
For the price he charges for his works, M.W. Ford owes his readers texts that are immaculately formatted and clearly written. Freelance copy editors are reasonably priced, as are freelance typesetters. Ford would do well to make use of both. Readers shouldn't have to guess at what the author is talking about because the syntax and the structure of a sentence renders it near incomprehensible. If shoddy and half-assed is Ford's interpretation of "personal excellence," then kudos. The information is above-par overall, though many of his attempts to syncretize various deities often falls short of both practicality and accuracy. For instance, the suggestion that Sekhemet, Anubis and Set were worshiped as part of a "dark Trinity" is not only illogical, it has no historical validity. Or if it does, Ford provides no scholarly references. In short, if an individual is able to get this book for half the price new copies are sold for, buy it. But unless one is a stoner, a burnout, a newbie or a 15 year old, don't pay full price. Until Ford FINALLY gets around to releasing a revised and professionally edited edition, it is NOT worth full price.

An honest review
I'm going to be the first one to branch out on a limb, and write a negative review.I like Michael W. Ford, and I respect him. This was not his best work. The book is more like a dry textbook with grammatical errors as opposed to a grimoire. It's extremely lengthy, and not in an informative way. It's lengthy like he's being paid by the word, so all kinds of irrelevant things are thrown in. For example, there's extensive amounts of information on ancient gods that have nothing to do with Fallen Angels or relative subject matter. And when I say extensive, I mean extensive. Unfortunately, that is only one example of the fluff contained within this book. Towards the end, there is finally some mention to fallen angels, and a few magickal workings listed for the reader to try. Personally, I will probably never use them. They seemed sloppily thrown together, and I won't do rituals based on work like that. Granted, these two things make up about 5% of the book, probably less. The rest of the book's content should have been omitted. Even so, the remaining 5% is still extremely flawed. Overall, I wouldn't recommend purchasing. This review is honest, unbiased, and straight-forward. Take it for whatever it's worth.

Adversarial Light: Magick of the Nephilim
I like the author. He remains sincerly devoted to his particular narrative of self-development.And with good reason. If we want a deeper and richer experience/expression of life, we have to be that deeper and richer. The book has "Solid" focusing rituals that empower, give focus, and allow one to experience a freedom that puts you in touch with the respective responsibilities of that freedom. A freedom based on an awareness of unity with it all. . However the book, and its subject isn't for weaklings. If your personal narrative(s) are fear based, and enlightenment is an alien state of being,....Stay under your bed.Great Book. Period.

I really enjoy it a lot.
I have not finished, about half way through and I'm ready to read more tomorrow. I had thoughts of my own stated and it helped me to see that I am coming along better than I have ever hoped,in my magickal practice. If your to the point where you create your own systems or styles of magick then this may help that happen faster. Mr. Ford says what may be impossible for some to say due to cultural or housing conditions. A great book really gets the blood pumping and this is more than I could have expected.

This is a fine edition to Luciferianism, you get to know all the archons and the darker forces of this world in such a way!

Good Read on the subject of The Watchers
I enjoyed this book. First one I've read by Michael Ford. I have not preformed any of the rituals I mostly got it to read up on others insights to the watchers. In the beginning for me with his explanations where kinda confusing to me as Im not Leciferian but after the first couple of pages it read ok. Rituals seem easy and not really requiring a bunch of hard to find items.

Nice information, but horrible authorship, and editing!
Horrible editing. This seems to be the theme of Michael Ford books, including his tarot deck. Costumer service is rude, and infantile. It has created a new church to capitalize on his books, not for the benefit of the people like Aleister Crowley did. Over priced, and inconsistent type face. It's all about the mont for this author, not on good decent products.

Adversarial Light:Magick of the Nephilim:1

Adversarial Light: Magick of the Nephilim: 1 by Michael William Ford, was full of Satanism not true Luciferianism!
I was disappointed with this book because I thought it would show me something of the internal workings of a real Luciferian, but I was wrong. It was full of the kind of puerile rubbish, one might find in the "News Of The World" type of news-paper! It was a total waste of time and money. If this is what I can expect from the rest of Mr. Ford's Books - I want no part of it!
