Alexa For Dummies (For Dummies (Computer/Tech))

I love the "Dummies" books. They are usually well written with tons of information packed in them. So I was concerned when this one wasn't rated highly in the ratings. I think the reason why is that it is brand new. The copyright date is 2019. This one is just as well written and filled with information as the other books in the series. I've only had my Echo device for a week, and figured out some of what is in the book, but was pleasantly surprised to learn other, totally new stuff. This would be a great idea to buy along with a new Alexa device. It would also be great for someone who is thinking about purchasing and doesn't know which device would be best, as the author devotes an entire chapter on the comparison of different devices. I've read other books on working with Alexa, and this is the best so far, IMHO!

I don't like the fact they force you to give a written review. It makes it easier to just not give a review at all.

I have been using Echo devices for several years and I had hoped this book would give me some new tips that I did not know. Unfortunately for me it did not. But my spouse learned a lot.

Love the format and the info given. Easy to read very informative.

I am pretty tech savvy and thought I knew everything Alexa was capable of, but this book does teach you some things you might never have thought of. It may not all be necessary knowledge, some of it is just for fun, but if you’re like me and like to get everything possible out of your gadgets, then I would highly recommend reading this. It’s a pretty easy read, I knocked it out at a chapter a day over a couple of weeks, and I’ll probably read it again in the near future to make sure I didn’t miss anything!

Wish it had more information included about Alexa's skills and abilities. Pretty good basic operating manual for those that don't like to read the issued instructions. Got a lot more out of my Alexa devices.

This a great book! It covers the basics of set-up, including whole house coverage, and then explains in depth the way to ask questions and give commands to Alexa. I keep finding jewels of information on ways to use Alexa.
