Beautiful just like the picture

this is harder to play than expected. with my fat crazy fingers i found it hard to manipulate them to what i desired on such small prongs. it functions well. the notes are loud and clear. sturdy. compact. but the two biggest humps: it's not perfectly ascending like a keyboard piano, and the prongs are small for the fingers. on the flip, i imagine with practice, dedication, and youtube, it would be easier than usual to do well.

The sound on this pre-tuned 21 key kalimba is really nice and the kalimba itself is pretty from the wood to the butterfly shaped sound hole. It's easy to play as well. It includes a black drawstring bag to protect it from scratches, a tuning hammer, a small cleaning cloth, silicone thumb guards (which I don't use), a "basic course" booklet for 10 key/15 key/17 key kalimba, 6 green stickers, 6 red stickers, and 17 note stickers. It also has a little trifold leaflet explaining how to tune the kalimba using the included hammer. I don't know if there was a mix-up at the factory or if the manufacturer just includes stickers for 17 key kalimbas on all their models. The problem with that is that I'm 4 stickers short on the note stickers and lack the # of colored stickers required. The only solution I found was to order a 21 key sticker pack from another company. Not a deal breaker, but something to keep in mind. I also decided to order a proper case to hold my kalimba. The drawstring bag is OK - especially if you keep your kalimba in the manufacturer's cardboard box - but for my peace of mind, I prefer a cushioned case. I also suggest buying a kalimba song book for beginners as the enclosed "basic course" is for smaller kalimbas with fewer keys and loses a bit in the translation. All in all, not bad. Just be aware that you might need to spring for the correct stickers, a storage case, a song book, & a clip on tuner or tuning app if you are serious about getting the most out of your kalimba playing experience. On another note, my family has cats and I expected the cats to freak out when I played the kalimba the first time. Instead, they merely looked up from where they were napping to see where the sound was coming from before settling back down to nap so that's a nice surprise. Give it a whirl.

It's such a pretty Kalimba, and it's 21 keys. Unfortunately, while I'm very musically inclined with several instruments in an eclectic way, I can't figure out how to tune this. I've downloaded several apps, I can't make heads or tales of them, it's more work than enjoyment - and when contacting the seller for any helpful hints they were very short in tone and offered zero help. It's super pretty and some of the keys have a beautiful sound, but if there's no one to teach you how to tune it, and the seller themselves won't offer an ounce of help, I can't recommend it for anyone other than people great at tuning.

Very good quality except it wasn’t tuned as they said it would be. Now I have to take it somewhere to get it tuned. I guess I could have sent it back but before I realized it wasn’t tuned it was too late. So check yours out immediately when you receive it
