Enjoyed it very much, was suspenseful and a lot of action, keeps you going just to see what will happen next

Solid 4&1/2. Very interesting but i wasn’t completely captivated. Different. Than most other shifter / fated mates. Slow burn. Lots of secrets

A wolf shifter without the ability to shift, one with a human soul. An outcast among her pack, one who's own family attacks her. Her half brother along with other alphas in training decide to teach her a lesson. They did not realize how powerful she was, she didn't realize how powerful she was. The most feared alpha steps in to save her, and takes her to the Hidden House, a safe haven for those needing a sanctuary. There she learns and grows, until Tristan needs her again. There is a war coming and she may very well be the secret weapon that he needs.Tessa has had a hard life, yet she is not a woo is me kinda girl. She more of an "I get knocked down, but I get up again kinda gal." Tessa has compassion, strength and common sense that some heroines just lack. Her confidence in her abilities is due to her abilities which is just refreshing. She knows she has limits and she tries to overcome them. She understands the inner workings of the pack, and she sees the situations that they are in for what they are. Then enters Tristian who completely changes everything she thought she knew. What she learns and gains at the safe house will forever change her. Heck I may have a girl crush on this one.Tristian is a young and feared alpha leader, who steps in to save Tessa from some alpha’s in training. He is an enigma for sure. There wasn’t a minute in the book that I didn’t love him. He just kept getting better and better until well there were no more pages. He allows Tessa to be the alpha female that she is, without feeling threated. It was a breath of fresh air, in a genre where alpha males try to “protect” the females. He is fighting against the odds and his enemies are plentiful.The chemistry between Tristian and Tessa is off the charts hot! I mean holy cow- grab a fan and glass of sweet iced tea because honey things are heated from the beginning. The best part though is that the intense chemistry does not take away from the storyline at all. It is there, they acknowledge it and continue to live their best alpha lives.The secondary characters bring an added depth to the storyline, both those on Tristian’s side (Jace) and those on Tessa’s (Danika and Iyana). Their bonds with their respective alphas are unbreakable. I for one cannot wait for their reaction to that ending.Holy cliffhangers! Color me shocked, surprised and honestly shook. This was one heck of an adventure and how it ends. I just can’t, y’all have to read this one. I went into it with no expectations except that it was a darker urban fantasy than I was used to, by the ending I was just stunned. Beautifully written, a journey about belonging in a world full of rejection.

I wish I could give partial stars, because this would be a solid 4.5 star review. What an incredible start to a new series! Everly Frost once again creates magic with a completely new spin on shifters.The shifter world Everly has created is violent and wild. Tristan is haunted by family demons, and leading a pack that is still healing from the previous alpha's rule, all the while being hunted by those around them. Tessa, abused by her pack for most of her life, ends up spending time healing in the supernatural version of a battered women's shelter. Here she makes friends and begins learning about herself. But just as she is learning control and balance, she is pulled into a war.The true beauty of the story lies in the characters and their stories. Tessa and Tristan are shifters unlike any I have ever read. More then that, they are survivors, works-in-progress, broken, misunderstood, scarred, and real. They have secrets, and you understand that their story is just beginning.The book is well edited, the plot unpredictable, and the twists just keep coming. Oh my ending! What a hook for the next book.In addition to the authors warnings, I would add that the story does not shy away from the vicious savagery of the bad guys. And many of the characters have a history or present that includes abuse. It's not the focus, but if that's your trigger then this story may not be for you.I can not wait for the next installment of this series. I need to know more! If you're looking for a dark, gritty, edge-of-your-seat, shifter story, then you definitely need to read this book.

Very exciting book. Starts out with Tessa, a shifter that has no wolf to bind her to the pack, living with her father on the outskirts of the pack lands. Her father was originally the Alpha until the day she was born. When he would not kill her, he was challenged and lost the position. At the same time, her mother abandons her and her father to be with the New Alpha.Tessa's father always told her to hide her wolf. She smells like a human instead of a shifter. It is the year the Conclave, getting together all the wolf packs, to be held at their pack lands. Tessa has always suffered at the hands of her half brother but this year, he finally makes the mistake of bringing 2 other wolves to give her a beating.But, things happen differently than anyone expects. A fight happens but it will not be what her half brother expects. Bad things happen and Tessa is taken away by another Alpha, Tristan, in a race for their lives. ererTristan takes Tessa to a secret place to be healed. He has plans for Tessa when she heals from her injuries. No one really know what Tessa is but Tristan has a suspicion of what she is but he will not tell Tessa what he believes.Tessa does not heal with magic as most of the shifters do. Other measures have to be done. Tessa meets a couple of other women there and makes friends the first time in her life.Tessa does learn a few things while healing that will help when it is time for Tristan to come back for her to put his plans in motion. I was surprised with what happens next.

This story started so well but then became difficult to follow. Having read the whole book I am still unable to understand what tessa's special scent/power is and if/why she is stronger than tristran and why it's important. There are lots of hints to tristrans back story but not enough to understand his oscilating motivations/behaviour. Might all become clear in later books but Im afraid Ive just lost interest.

Everly Frost has done it again and written another book that had me hooked from the first page. I really enjoyed reading this book, all the twists & turns and new friendships & tensions. It was a brilliant read and I had to reread it again once I finished as my first read through was definitely one of those ones where I just swallowed it down in one big gulp and I wanted to go back and read at a steadier pace. I'm very excited for the next book in this series and just excited about this series as a whole. I loved it and gets a massive five stars from me.

I really like Tessa's story. She's a fighter. She a survivor and she fights for her life. I know the story intends to reveal things in small quantities but I got a bit confused sometimes. I would love more background on the supernatural history of this world. I understand Tessa's origins are clouded in mystery but I got confused a few turns, not sure if I'm the only one. I don't get how a group of Alphas can just vote someone dies jsut like that. There's no logic in it.I love how dominant and fierce Tristan is but there is not much to like about him in the writing. And the chemistry between them both wasn't very strong for her to be so in deep with him already. I didn't even know he really liked her to be honest there was not much on his feelings. He was just so hostile most of the time.I am following on the series because I'd like to know how it ends.

Tessa is a werewolf but she can't shift, or so her pack think because if they knew the truth, they'd kill her. But the truth finds always a ways out, and before she is killed, Tristan Masters from a rival werewolf pack saves her, and now he owns her life. The two don't get along, especially because Tessa has only heard terrible things about him, but spending time together and with his pack brings to light the real Tristan and the real reason why he saved her.The book ends on a cliffy, but I need to know ASAP if Tessa finds her way back.

Stop reading reviews and just go read this book lol!!! This author is one of my go to authors because her stories are unique, intriguing, full of wonderful characters with world building that just pulls me into the story. This book ticks all those boxes with plenty of hot chemistry and sass thrown in! This is a cracking series opener that will leave you begging for more!!
