Utterly delicious
Great book, amazing visuals, an over the top ultraviolent romp. Not for the squeamish. Only complaint is that the series is finished.

Insane artwork with hyper stylized violence that could only be done in comics.
Trad Moore’s artwork is absolutely bonkers. The amount of controlled lines he puts on every page is unlike anything I’ve ever seen in a comic before. Most artists would get loose with a brush to fudge an army of thousands. Not Trad Moore - he draws every tree in the forest as a distinct shape. It’s incredible. Colorist Felipe Sobreiro seems to know exactly the amount of color to use to amplify the storytelling and the art without being distracting, which is no easy thing with this sort of clean, detailed line art.The story itself and characters are larger than life, but a bit hollow. Justin Jordan’s writing is light on exposition, which I appreciate, but the world he’s built seems more like a playground for hyper stylized violence than an actual fully realized work of fiction. The introduction of historical figures in the back half of the book is interesting and a flashback to the Biblical Sampson is the strongest scene by far. But the first section, where the titular hero goes from scrawny teen to superhero by reading a book never really makes sense. Also, the level of violence in this book doesn’t excite me as a 30 year old man the way it would have when I was a teen. There was a missed opportunity to create drama between Luther’s pacifism and his girlfriend Petra’s shoot first ask questions later approach. Neither seems fully invested in their own way of doing things, which makes for bland characters even when the action is leaping off the page. This is comics being comics. There is a greater suspension of disbelief required than film or TV, but if you go along for the ride and aren’t bothered by over the top gore, this is required reading for any fan of the action genre.

An Absolute Must Read!
It's not often that I step away from the big two these days; but this one caught my attention. This is a story that spoke to me on a lot of levels. I remember the ads in the back of comics. The drawn strong man selling his never-fail exercise solution to turn you from a zero to a hero. Luther sends for the book...and it works. He becomes a nerd's dream. But his newfound strength comes with a price. A threat from biblical times that may take away everything and everyone he loves.I absolutely loved this book! Superhero books teach morals and give you that super-action you crave; but what happens really? This book takes it the logical conclusion as Luther Strode goes on a mission to make the world a better place.

Gorgeous, Bloody Fun
One of my favorite comic book trilogies in one oversized, gorgeous collection. You owe it to yourself to experience this bloody, brutal, yet ultimately heartwarming story of power and redemption.

Great
I don't usually read things twice..... But this book has so much in its short run that I can not see anyone being disappointed.

Maravilloso

Good price for a little book
I was expecting to get the hardcover, but instead I misclicked and bought the softcover. It's a little smaller than comic-book size, nice paper and ink, but oh well, for what it cost me what can I say, sometimes happy mistakes happen and the few moneys spent on this mistake are well spent since I'm pretty happy with the softcover and won't be going for the hardcover. As for the story and dooddles, well, it's a stylish and graphically impressive treatise on ultraviolence. Won't break the bank a la Vertigo but you're getting an interesting story, clean and sharp drawings and nice color, so mucho happy. 👌🏼☺️

A great Luther Strode collection
Ultimate edition to the Tradd Moore love child. It collects the three Luther Strode books with covers and other material in a beautiful hardcover. You can look at his style changing through the beautiful page along with its main character and it is a beautiful, gorey journey.
