## Description

MIIDII rubber soling sheet for re-sole shoe soles or heels. HOW TO USE 1. Place the shoe on the sole sheet, use a pen to mark the shape of the shoe sole. 2. Cut the sheet along with the marks. 3. Clean the shoe sole with a dry cloth, sand both surfaces you want to glue until it's a little bit rough to get the best bond. 4. Apply shoe goo to both the shoe sole and the sheet, press hard for a while, and then clamp it with rubber bands or clamps. 5. Wait for 24hrs, and then trim the extra parts of the edges. **Q: What type of glue works best to glue this to the shoe?**
A: Professional cobblers almost universally use Master's brand contact cement.  Consumer-available container sizes are often sub-branded "Petronio's" but it's the same stuff.  You can also use Weldwood or any other reputable brand of contact cement.  If you aren't using an adhesive where you coat both surfaces to be joined and let them dry to a touchable tack, then reactivate the adhesive on the sole with a heat gun or IR lamp, then you're not using the right stuff. 
 
Amateurs often try using epoxy, shoe goo, E6000 or some other hardward-store adhesive.  Not only do these adhesives lack long-term durability, but their manner of use results in messy glue squeeze-out along the midsole that will make it look like a second-grader performed your resoling attempt.  Use what the pros use.

**Q: Is this hard and plastic feeling or rubbery non slip?**
A: It has a more rubbery feel to it.

**Q: Has any tried resoling rock climbing shoes with this?**
A: I make running sandals from these kinds of products,  I'd imagine what would be better for a rock climbing shoe would be the kinds of sheet that come as ~1mm cushionless versions.

**Q: Can this rubber be used for bottoms of dr schools exercise wooden clog?**
A: This sole repair rubber will work best on rubber or leather I believe. I have used it on my wife’s sneakers and the stuff wears like iron. Great product. I apply the glue to both surfaces and let it dry overnight. Next day I use a heat gun/hair dryer to heat both surfaces and then but them together and apply clamps for 8 or more hours. Good stuff.

I used it to make half soles for large snip toe cowboy boots. Seems VERY durable, I don't see this breaking down quickly. It is indeed rubber and not a rubber / plastic material like Vibram half soles which are easier to cut. Extremely difficult to cut and trim! It's like trying to cut a car tire. I used Fiskars shears for initial cutting and shaping. A brand new razor couldn't seem to bite in order to trim around the leather sole edges after bonding. I had to use a rotary tool to sand the last bit down, but the end results were worth it. I imagine a belt sander would half worked better/faster. Obviously a cobbler could have done the job faster and cleaner, but I had fun doing it.
