Great, accurate GPS Rangefinder!! Highly recommend, but don't lose it!!
Love this rangefinder!! Easy to use, straightforward user interface. Access to thousands of golf courses, but allows you to select favorite courses, AND knows which course you are at when you turn it on! It allows you to keep score. It allows you to adjust the flag on the putting green. It will even tell you how far you hit your drive!! It has light and dark mode. Battery seems to last forever. I have played a couple rounds on one charge with plenty of battery left. WARNING: This rangefinder is VERY easy to lose. Buy a lanyard with it and secure it to your bag!! The included belt clip IS NOT enough!!

Very useful!
I purchased the Garmin Approach G12 golf range finder and it has worked out great for me. I've had it for a full golf season and this truly has helped me to become better at figuring out which golf club to use depending on the distance to the green. When you start, it finds the course you are at, it asks if you want to use the score feature, and what color will you be teeing off from. (Black, blue, gold, white, red) It took me a bit to become quick in navigating the buttons to score and advance to the next hole. I had to figure out how to change holes when our start off was not on #1, but was on #10 instead for the back nine. I also save all of my games using the blue tooth connection to the app on my phone, so that I can refer back to them. You can scan all of your games, where you played, your score etc... There are features that I probably am not using as yet but I'll figure it out eventually. I think for the money, this is small, simple, and easy to carry. I have it on a short lanyard to hang from my belt area.

Really good, but not perfect
Have used this for a year or so now. For the most part it has been flawless and perfect for an average golfer like myself. I don't like wearing a watch so this is perfect for me to keep in my pocket during the round. I have had a couple issues though. I left our home area for a golfing trip to Pensacola, Florida and when we went to any of the local courses to play it could not find any of them. Just would not sync with the satellite, No matter what we tried just would not work. Then after a month of playing i logged into to app online and none of scores from the past month had been stored. Called tech support which was very helpful in getting back up and going and resolving there issue but I lost a months of scores due to a"glitch" So while not perfect it is the bottom of the Garmin line but when it works, which is the majority of the time it's really nice but after having a coulee issues and having to call tech support to resolve i can't give it 5 stars even though i would consider purchasing again if i lost this one I will add while this unit has shown to bed very accurate with the yardages takes a while to link up with the satellites so if playing a new course turn it on as soon as you arrive so it has plenty of time to find your course.

Great Device. Easy to Use.
I don't like playing with a watch-style device on my wrist. This attaches to my golf bag, making it easy for my cart partner to get distance readings. Easy to read and great battery life.

Solid GPS for Casual Golfers – So Far, So Good
I’ll admit—I’m a little excessive when it comes to golf. I bought this GPS specifically to get quick distances to the front and back of the greens, while I still rely on my rangefinder for pin positions. The GPS can be a bit slow to find my course, and the distances may be off by a few yards now and then—but at my skill level, that’s not a dealbreaker. I play around 100 rounds a year, and after about 9 months of use, the battery still lasts for about 3 full rounds per charge, which is solid. If the battery keeps performing like this and lasts around 3 years, I’ll be more than satisfied. Overall, it’s been a useful addition to my golf setup.

Play the back tees, you will like it. Play forward, not so much.
If your route around the golf course always takes you within 15-20 feet of the back tees, the Garmin G12 is a good hand held gps device for yardage to the green. It will auto-advance to the next hole. In the "BIG" setting, the front-middle-back yardages are easy to see, and are fairly accurate. It is small and light weight, and easily fits in my pocket. So far, 5 star. I was told the G12 uses the back tee locations to identify when you have reached the next hole. That triggers the screen to auto advance. But, what if you dont always pass real close to the back tees? In that case, the G12 does not auto adjust. You must manually enter the hole using buttons on the device. Doing that once or twice a round is no big deal, but on my course it is 10-12- times. Playing many rounds a year, it would be become tedious, at least for me. All my previous gps hand-helds were auto advance. I simply pulled them from my pocket, and the current yardage was right there to see. Not with the G12. I consider auto advancing the hole to be a basic requirement. Thus my rating on the G12 drops to one star. I am puzzled why Garmin would design the G12 with such a glaring deficiency? Very disappointing.

simple golf GPS.
This unit is ideal for carrying in your pocket. it will give you distance to all hazards as well as front, middle and back of green. Simple to use. However if you want detail and layout of course this is not what you want.
