provocative
I'am writing the review of this book after completely reading it . This book revolves around the genesis and the effect of the Draconian law AFSPA . Dr. Sanjib Baruah presented a different scenario of the North-East india which is totally different from what is seen in the media especially the television debates. The author discourages the use of absolute force via AFSPA and highlights its grave misuse. The author a localite of the northeast India so his writing is a testimony of the ground zero situation of the North East India. Not many books are written about North East India hence the real situation is unknown to most of us. This book throws light on the life and struggle of activist Irom Sharmila, the application of the term "insurgency" to the NE movement . This book is a must for an awake citizen of India. I congratulate Dr.Sanjib Baruah for bringing out a masterpiece.
