Can you plug charger into cigarette lighter and leave on dashboard?

If your cigarette lighter is "cold" (that is, does not deliver power to devices plugged into it) when the car is off, then you cannot charge your car battery via the cigarette lighter. The lighter socket needs to be "hot" when the car is off.

I want to use it to keep charged the12V 18Ah battery on my home generator? Should it work? if so, get the 10watt or 20 watt?

I have the 10 watt and it still works great for my boat. The 20 watt would be faster to charge overall, but with that small of a battery, as long as you mount it in the direct sun, the 10 watt would be sufficient. It can stay connected to keep the battery fully charged for a long time.

7.5 watts do not require a charging controller. Because its current is small.

Can I plug this into the solar plug that came with my travel trailer I want this to maintane my 2 6volt batteries?

Sorry I'm not sure. I got mine for the boat battery and so far I'm not impressed
