I can't speak for other reviewers here, but I'm pretty sure I received OEM Kawasaki mower engine air filters, not fakes. I carefully compared the new ones with several of my past (used) mower air filters to make sure. I know counterfeiters are getting better and better at their duplicitous craft these days, but it's pretty difficult to slip fakes past me (former quality control expert)... also, classic car restoration is what I spend most of my waking hours on and have for years. So, basically, I deal with fixing, finding, restoring, replacing, and ordering a LOT of mechanical parts. And even manufacturing them myself if/when a part can't be obtained (for a fair price) out on the market... which happens a lot with old cars. Anyway, the point is that I can pretty much spot junk parts from a mile away. These Kawasaki air filters aren't car parts but close enough. Also, I don't throw out old parts. So I just grabbed the box of all my old used mower air filters for this engine and compared these new ones with the one that came on the mower from the factory 10 years ago, and several others since then. These new ones are the same quality, same fit and finish, same filter media, same number of pleats, same metal mesh, etc. as all my old OEM ones. The only thing that has changed with these new ones is the low price I used to get. :-(

This item has the prefilter on it which is an improvement from the original Kawasaki filter.
