When opening it, it already needs to be repainted, none of the edges have any of the stain. I do really like how you can hang it facing either direction, plus it comes with screws. I love that it is a moon and it seems sturdy.

I purchased this crescent moon shaped shelf because my niece had one on her baby registry and I was getting her the crib & wall decor. However, the shelf she had on her registry was from Pottery Barn and the price was $150.00 for the same shelf. I did a lot of research on the crescent moon shelf she wanted size, depth, product material etc.. I did not want to look cheap not wanting to buy her the one she picked, but just thought the price was outrageous. I was not just purchasing the shelf but other items on list, as well. So I believed the more research I did to save money the more I could buy her. Boy, did I save a bundle on this shelf. The shelf from Amazon was almost identical to the one at pottery barn. The size of the shelf what is the same a good size, the color of the shelf what is similar, the material built for the shelf was Quality. It is strong heavy duty but easy to hang. I would definitely recommend buying this shelf it is adorable I'm nice signature peace for any room at A a fantastic Price.

Love it so much, I expected a bit bigger, but altogether looks great in my bedroom!
