I had to buy a separate amp to feed my remote audio devices. Also be aware that if you have the USB charging cable plugged in there is a low level humm from the converter, I suspect this is from the fact they have not got a very good filter in the power supply to filter the USB 5 volts. I used it to connect my Samsung TV that I use as a TV computer monitor. The optical audio converter connects to my Computer Logitech speakers. My computer sends audio to the TV via HDMI. So I now have computer and TV sounds through my Logitech speakers. The audio converter has protective caps over the optical tips. I didn't catch that at first and thought the item was defective.
