Great
Great book. Very practical suggestions and advice. About 3/4 of the way through the book my relationship with alcohol dramatically changed.

Very informal easy read so far.
I just started but it's an easy, entertaining read on a topic that other writers might make clinical or foreboding.

Helpful
This book (I listened to audio version) offered several tips for cutting back on the amount of alcohol I drink. I just was getting into a habit of having wine every evening. Habits can be tricky to change but this book offered good ideas and solutions that worked.

It works!
I had been looking for a way to cut back on drinking but not stop entirely - and that’s what this book is all about. The author presents the topic logically, yet with a great touch of British humor and good examples of how she struggled with doing this. She touched on many of my “hot button” issues with an an approach that - so far - is working for me. If you’ve wanted to drink less but weren’t sure about how to approach and implement this goal - this book is for you!

interesting
This was an interesting read for me. I didn’t expect it to be framed around people who drink daily looking to change their habits. I do not drink daily, but still want to change my habits and become more mindful. Nevertheless, the book had some good tips and tricks to try to drink more mindfully.

Enlightening and empowering!
I love the direct and helpful approach in this book and happy it has helped me cut down and be mindful of drinking rather than give up completely. I have gone from drinking at least a bottle of wine a night, every night - to having 1 to 2 alcohol free days a week and when I do drink usually sticking to 1 or 2 glasses unless it's a special social occasion.I have lost half a stone in weight, 2 inches off my tummy and feel and look 100% times better. I have more energy and sleep so much better. I haven't had to stop drinking which I thought I might have to so I'm really enjoying this new lifestyle of mine. It's liberating and has changed my life. I am free from alcohol-related anxiety and at 41, it's a crucial time for health and what the next half of my life might look and feel like. I am hoping I might live a bit longer now!I have passed the Mindful Drinking book onto a friend and have told my Mum about it as well. Many thanks!

Better than nothing
There are numerous mediocre self-help books for people who like to drink too much, and this is another of them. It's likeable enough, and of some help, although I do wish she'd stop talking about how much nicer my skin would be if I stopped drinking. No alcoholic ever gave a damn about the state of his skin. There are also numerous blank (lined) pages for personal notes through the book, disguising the fact that the author hasn't really put enough work into it.

Really good, measured and helpful advice if you want to control and reduce your drinking
Loved this book. Exactly what I was looking for when I searched for something to help me drink in a more measured way. Love the way she explains why we drink, the many reasons to drink less and then her excellent tips and techniques for adjusting and adapting the way you drink. I implemented everything she said and I'm six weeks in and drinking mindfully feels totally manageable and achievable. Such an important book if you want to tread the middle line between total sobriety and feeling out of control with your drinking.

Realistic and non preachy guide to cutting down
A brilliantly straightforward and realistic approach to cutting down sensibly. I’m never going to be teetotal but Dean has smart, practical tips which are a real help to keeping pointless drinking in check. Want to buy a copy for everyone I know!
