it made the leather a lot stiffer but i used it on both sides of leather. next time i will only use it on the front side. hopefully it doesn't do the same thing.

Must use correctly then perfect results obtained
I have used several colours of this brand to dye shoes, boots and handbags over the course of a few years. It is a proper leather dye, soaking right into the leather rather than the paint -on colourants advertised which simply put a plastacised coating over the leather and can crack or peel. You must however use the product correctly to obtain perfect results. My advice:1. Essential Preparation. A surface must be covered to work on and preferably an apron worn in case of splashes. The dye is very strong so latex or similar gloves MUST be worn - it dyes skin and nails strongly! Because the liqiuid is so thin and watery to soak into the leather, it's best to put the gloves on before opening the container. Rather than a pre-dye bought product I use acetone (nail polish remover) applied in circular motions over the leather applied with a circular cotton make-up remover pad.2. Apply the dye sparingly again in circular motionsand with an applicator or make-up remover pad, and leave to dry thoroughly preferably overnight- it appears touch dry within an hour or so but this is the surface and it does require longer to be sure. It only needs one coat unless perhaps you are dying a very dark colour much lighter in which case it must be left to dry thoroughly before putting on a second coat. I believe that bronzing effect occurs with putting a second coat on too soon or over-saturating. Once dry there may be some bronzing but buffing up with a microfibre cloth gets rid of it. I usually then polish the item with neutral or coloured shoe polish.I've always been successful and there is far more dye in the container than need, as I've never needed a second coat. I have a quarter left of the purple one I bought having dyed a pair of boots and a handbag to match, for example. It's a great way to have shoes and handbag matching or to give new life to a tired pair of boots. Would recommend!

Great value and great color!
I got the turquoise one and the color is great. I needed almost the whole bottle, so the value for the size was great too!
