A great collection with some oddity
There are five cds in this collection, and one is superexcellent, two are good and two rather strange to have been included. Overall a good selection and three out of five for this price is not a bad compromise. But still it is really strange to have some of their greatest albums in this collection selected with at least one bummer. It would have been easy to include five top album, but not here. In conclusion I am happy with the purchase and if nothing else two of their best albums are included [album 4 and 5] and one that is decent [3]. Something to listen to with great satisfaction and joy.

underated icons
Smokie were probably one of the most underated bands of the 70s,and at the time you had glamrock and the super groups lke,Pink Floyd and Genises to name but two.'Alice' did'nt do them much favors, though it was there biggest hit it slightly over shadowed a lot of there better songs.Yes they were commercial, but you had to be if you wanted to succede, but if you sit down and listen to any of the tracks on any of these albums you will hear how good, not just the music but the lyrics are,'Changing all the time','I'll meet you at midnight'and the brilliant 'If you think you know how to love me',again just naming a few.I have all these albums on vynel, but sometimes its nice to listen to music without the crackiling. In conclussion if you're not sure about Smokie, you cant go wrong with this collection, you wont be dissapointed, and at a fair price.

Recollecting some of my albums by Smokie
In the 1970s Smokie were my favourite bands. I bought the albums on vinyl (apart from cassettes was the only media of recorded music) and as the years passed by my albums and turntable became lost. This collection has enabled me to relive these years and hear these albums again. Many of the big hits are among this collection, "If you think you know how to love me", "Don't play your rock 'n' roll to me", "Lay back in the arms of someone" and the excellent "Oh Carol" (a song with a story). Some other songs from the albums became favourites of mine as well "Julia", "Sunshine Avenue" and "Liverpool docks". Very competively priced collection, other "Original Album classics" by other artists are also available.

I have the Greatest Hits and wanted to go a little deeper into the catalog. Five CDs is a lot of music which is great for the price but a lot to work through. Some great album tracks but you keep coming back to the singles which really stand out. A great band at a great time and the singles still hold up today.
