Do you need to prime the surface before using this glue for 3d printer pla or abs parts?

It depends on what you are gluing. In most cases it will work well without priming. Loctite makes a primer to make CA glues like 401 work on the infamous polyethylene, polypropylene and similar plastics. When used on acrylic, the glue vapors can fog the surrounding plastic. Loctite support suggested I use a fan when gluing up the parts to blow the vapors away, if cosmetics are a big issue. This is generally not a problem but I thought I would pass the hint along
