Q: does this product contain formaldihyde?

No it does not contain formaldehyde. But I do not recommend buying from Amazon. Oakhurst now makes Wild Root and when they started producing it the formula was wrong and the stuff would separate into water and oils and was useless. It seems that Amazon warehouses are filled with this bad formula. I have purchased twice nd both bottles had to be thrown away.

Q: Does this product still have that distinct smell.. Even though its made for men, my mom used it on all of us kids back in the 60s. Use to love the sm.

Wildroot has a lovely smell indeed. However, the company who used to make it sold the rights to manufacture it to another company and the product which I once bought in these 15oz bottles (from the 'new' manufacturer) was very inferior indeed: it was a watered down version of the old recipe. Liquids and solids separated and out popped white water. Be careful when buying!

I have used it for over 40 yrs. smells the same to me but I don't pay a lot of attention to smell. Wish it wasn't so hard to find.
