Amazing dumbells!! However, they might require some cleaning and tweaking.
These dumbells are really sturdy, heavy and comfortable. Definitely one of the best and most affordable pairs of dumbells on Amazon. However, keep in mind that the locks used to keep the sand inside might have small openings around them. I recommend cleaning the dumbells with household wipes before using them. Also, I used my silicone gun to complete seal the sand locks to avoid any sand from coming out of the dumbells.Since I was satisfied with this product, I decided to order a second pair and the sand locks in the new one didn't have any openings, so I didn't have to use my silicone gun with that one.So basically, the overall quality of these dumbells is great, but they might come with some imperfections depending on the pair you get.

easy to adjust
Large plastic adjusters make changing weights easy, but a little time consuming. Either barbell is adjustable to 5, 15, or 20 pounds. Not like going to a gym but these weights are functional and relatively cheap.

2.5 year update. Good set for the price but some issues
2024/12 2.5yr update. I have used these almost daily since purchase. After first epoxy dip these thing has held the test of abuse. New lock washer installed. Daily use these wear down, go to any hardware store and 6 buck all new replacements. I still think the diameter of the bar is too thin for a normal hand, I bought some "fat gripz" so I can grip these. Two and a half year summary.I'd buy them again.Just upgrade them to the epoxy coating and buy the fat grips day one. Even after buying extras the savings of buying these can't be beat.2022/7 Two weeks use update- coating is seriously chipping of with gentle care of weight movement. I decided to take a wire brush to hit all the loose paint and then get these into a epoxy that once dries can be baked to harden. This changed the weights to a heavy black color but I painted the lettering before I put the coat on.Receiving the packages-200lb set comes in 3 boxes, no compressed or harden carboard so two of the boxes came destroyed. UPS driver used another box to keep stuff together and by our surprise (he stuck around for a while) the weights and parts were all there.Inspecting the order- Because of the shipping issue the plates are all chipped. I really don't find this an issue because all my other coated plated have been repainted or touched up at some point.Bars- Well machine and nice coating, bar locks spin right on, no issue.Grip- Texture is good but grip is thin almost feels like their made for an child. My daughter hands are the perfect size to grab around the bar. This will likely make the weight uncomfortable at higher weights and will need to be wrapped to make the grip thicker or extremely padded gloves.Weights- As stated above the are chipped. In checking the weight of the plates I found most being slightly lower that spec weight. My checking was done to 1/3 of the plates at random. If I had to make a guess the 200lb set is more likely 195lb. This isn't a be deal unless I plan to use the same amount of weight some where else which isn't an issue.Conclusion- Good set. They have mass thus can be lifted and you will grow. They may not be pretty on arrival but that isn't what training is about. After a dozen more uses I will update review if needed.

200 lb set review
Quality: Excellent quality. Handles and collars are solid steel, plates had a few nicks but nothing major. I loaded up one handle up with 105lbs to do one armed bent over rows and it handled it like a champ, very sturdy.Shipping: It took 18 days to receive set and I only live 30 miles away from where they are shipped (Ontario CA). So expect to receive them at the later end of the shipping date range. Received all parts though one box was banged up, and one collar fell out and was placed on top of the box by the delivery guy. Had it been shipped across the country i might not have been so fortunate.Description: The item description for the 200lb set lists (12) ten pound plates. I received (16) ten pound plates. The 5 and 2.5 pound plates were listed correctly.During my first use i was surprised with how small a 1 inch diameter handle is, much smaller than what were use to in the gym. Not uncomfortable just different. They sell rubber hand grips for 1 inch diameter dumbell handles, i'll buy a set of those to get a thicker grip. One major problem i came across is when doing incline press and shoulder press, you're not able to rest the dumbells on your knees and kick up to help lift the weight. The 1 inch rod sticking out prevents that. With 80-90 pounds on the handle it would probably break skin of your leg and then some. I looked for some kind of end plate to screw on the bottom of the handle but couldn't find anything like that on line so im going to order another set of collars and screw them until they are flush with the begining of the handle. hopefully my knee can take that pressure. I need my legs to assist when lifting 70 plus pounds over my head, so i'll have to figure out a way to balance them on my knee. I'll update the review once i get the collars and tell you how that goes.Overall I'm very happy with this purchase and recommend this set. I paid $240 for the set, where the other 200lb sets were going for $400. This is a great buy.
