The drop will break the tactile feedback feature and there is no way to repair it for the DIY'er ... I tried. Given how hefty (14 oz) the tamper is for its size, I was surprised that it is actually very delicate. ESPRO should provide cautions in their instructions of the delicate nature of the device. ESPRO used to offer repair services but no longer does so. And when you have 4 variables, your want to reduce them to one, which is the grind size.
