Is this the same Vitamin C defense gel in different packaging? I will flip my fridge if y'all discontinued my favorite cleanser.

Sadly I think it's a very different formula altogether! I've been using the OG vitamin c gel cleanser for 4 or 5 years, I'm 34 years old. It's the best cleanser I have found and this is definitely different ingredients, different smell, altogether a different product. Which is why if you Google the old product online it's selling for $35 or more because of the demand. So awful!

Avalon Organics, in behalf of all vitamin C line customers, can you go back to the original formula?

Yes, PLEASE bring back the old formula, Intense Defense. Totally different formula than the new one that appears to be the same but isn't -- the old one had many more natural ingredients and fewer ingredients overall. That was my favorite cleanser ever, and I'm really picky, so this is very upsetting! So many Amazon shoppers are requesting the same thing, hope your product team will listen to their customer feedback.

Has anyone found a good replacement for this cleanser since they changed it?

I found one in Insta Natural Vitamin C Cleanser. It is composed of Aloe Vera, Coconut Water, Sugar Can Extract and Green Tea Extract. It can be found here on Amazon. A 6.7 oz. goes for about $19.00 give or take.

What happened to the cream / milk version? It was the only thing that worked on my face. Any good replacements (not gel)?

Sorry, I can’t recommend anything else. I only use the gel because it’s my personal preference.
