LapGear Lap Desk Deluxe Laptop XL 17 - White Carbon, Built-in Mousepad, Wrist Rest and Phone Holder, LapDesk Surface Supports up to 17.3" Laptop

The lap desk is incredibly roomy. The addition of the mouse pad makes it larger than your typical lap desk but even while it is larger, it isn't too heavy and still feels comfortable on your lap after several hours. The bar near the bottom is soft enough to feel good as your wrist rests upon it when you use the mouse pad but sturdy enough to keep your laptop from tipping forward if you get too carried away for any reason. This is a fantastic product. So much so that i bought the white one for myself and purchased the black lap desk for a family member.

I have a large laptop, and need space for a mouse (a trackball, actually). Formerly I used LapGear XL Laptop LapDesk, Black (45492) - which was good but had a couple of flaws. When the second one died (began leaking tiny styrofoam pellets, requiring needlwork to repair it) I began looking for another one and wound up with this one.It's not curved, which is fine. That always seemed like a bit of a gimmick to me.It does have plenty of room for the mouse and one or two other small items to the side of the lapdesk. The rough surface for mousing is on the right, so if you happen to mouse left-handed, you're out of luck there - you might need to add a mouse pad.The slot for the smartphone looked like a nice idea though I've found that it doesn't fit my phone (a Samsung Galaxy Note 5) even with the rubbery outer case removed - if I were to remove the inner hard plastic case, it might fit.The wrist rest seems like a good idea, but as with the former lapdesk, I find it puts my wrist at an awkward angle for mousing. I tend to put a book or something underneath the mousepad to let my wrist stay straight. It works fine for keyboarding.It feels very substantial, and I have no worries that it won't support my laptop adequately - a much cheaper one I tried was so flimsy I was afraid to use it. It also does a good job of insulating my lap from the computer, which tends to run rather hot.

I don't like this product because of bottom cushions. They are not comfortable.

Unless you are buying this specifically to use in bed, this lap desk is (1) too wide for use with many chair styles (not a one in my house, for example), and (2) is too deep to fit in a lap. I'm fairly tall, but the higher bumper on this desk (the one that elevates your laptop to an angle) does not stay seated on my knees.

I love it. I work remotely most of the week and I now own two of these. I actually use them for a USB small-form-factor keyboard and mouse, not a laptop. I also have attached a wireless LED reading light to this, so I may work early in the morning or late at night without disturbing my family. This is a truly great product, in my opinion, and I studied the entire field out there very, very carefully.

I've had this a few months now and while I really like it, the gel pad already has a permanent indentation. If the quality of the gel pad improved, this would get five start.

I bought this as a gift for my husband to set a 15 1/2 inch laptop on. It fits great. There is room for his mouse, phone and mileage tracker. The bottom of it is set up nice. It is sturdy and looks nice. I highly recommend it.
