Review: I use ywam materials with a special needs student I work with. He enjoys them very much. Review: Brother Andrew is a super book .. I am reading it to my grandsons. They are so excited each time we read to find out what Brother Andrew is doing next. Due to the war stories and some violence I think it's likely best for 10 and up but with discussion it's a good way for young minds to learn about missionaries, war, communism etc.

I am reading this book with my eight-year-old son. It is a little over his head but he loves it anyway. Lots of adventure for a boy who likes action. Brother Andrew's story is a strong testimony to the power of God. This is illustrated in very practical ways, such as in provision of a car, or in finding trustworthy contacts behind the iron curtain. As a Christian, I find it very encouraging in my faith to read books like this. Although the paper quality is poor, the book is so good I'd say buy it anyway. I wish it were available in hardcover.

For anyone remotely interested in what drives someone to go as far as Andrew has, this is certainly an essential work. I found it quite fascinating as to what actually drove Andrew to go from a rather wild lifestyle to go as far as smuggling one million bibles into China. Then there is hhis very risky undercover work within the Middle East and elsewhere. A truly amazing man.
