I have more than 1 dog. Will barking dogs next to the dog wearing the collar cause it to correct the wearer even if he is not barking?

Thank you for your question! The collar is designed to detect the vibration of your dog's vocal chords when he barks, so it will not activate if a nearby dog barks.

Would this work on my chihuahua? Does it work on small dogs?

It works that’s for sure- but it is a large, bulky for that breed rectangular(ish) electronic and the one I got from here isn’t designed for dogs that small. There are other bark deterrent collars that are made for little dogs. I don’t know if Sport Dogs makes them that small.

How does this even work? Does it shock them or vibrate?

It does not shock them; it is a vibration. On the user-defined setting (blue), you can set the strength of the vibration to the lowest (1) up to the highest (10). My dog is particularly stubborn, and will bark through the vibration, which for him is set at 6, but with fewer barks at each instance. The green setting increases the intensity from 1-10 as the dog begins and continues to bark, but once the barking has stopped, it resets to the lowest setting. I liked this one, but it didn't work for my guy.
