Of all the martial arts books I've bought I've found this one to be the most useful. I noticed an increase in my speed doing some of the drills and by changing my mentality. It's one of the only martial arts books I've read more than once.

Good insight
The book has some good insight into speed and fighting. The diet stuff was not of my belief but is probably good. I realy bought the book for the insight of speed training drills and strategy of fighting that gives increase speed. Example; not kicking above the waist to have speed delivery as apposed to the head kick everyone wants to do and show off with. His attitude and advise from years of mma fighting. The better moves that work, not fillers moves to have more words in a book. I find it interesting people who are taking fighting arts developed hundreds of years ago and find a book put together in the late 90's not to be current enough. It is vert current stragity and drills that will make you more successful. It is worth the time and effort to read this book. You will pick something up to use if you want to better no matter what martial arts you are using.

I will make you faster
This is an excellent informative book. Speed is essential to every martial art. It could be the different between winning and losing in tournament, or live and death in the real world. Mr Christensen, primary martial art is Karate. However the concepts and drills he suggests can be applicable in any martial art. He goes through the concepts of first building up your perception time so you know an attack is coming faster, then to speeding up you reaction time (how quickly you react to danger or an attack). Also how to demoralize an opponent by giving them the illusion of think you are faster than you are. I really like this approach as a much higher percentage of martial arts is the mental aspect which many people outside martial arts do not realise. Coming from a Kickboxing background, I found a lot of this book useful as many of the drill could very easily be transferred over. When I say drills, these are not the usual sense of drills of combinations to practice. I think exercises would be better word. There are a number of these throughout the book, which might be use full for people in their everyday life even if they are not practicing martial arts. I mean who would not benefit from being able to precise and solve problems faster? A great book that is very useful for me as an instructor as well as a student wanting to increase my knowledge. I would recommend this to anyone.
