I highly recommend this version over any other that you may be considering.
Review: Makes cooking easy - I use this for many things besides just onions and some other vegetables. I also use it to stab through meat before marinating. Highly recommend this product. But I'm not scared of slicing through the onions sideways while dicing them and cut myself. I was always cautious before but now I don't have to focus on cutting myself.

I have sliced onions and tomatoes with it and I like it. It really helps. It holds well. The only thing is you have to make sure you cut completely through as the bottom of the vegetable is hard to cut through. Makes nice slices.
