Review: The bottle that turned me into the unwilling janitor of the century - I didn’t think a cleaning product could become a character in my life. I didn’t think a gallon jug would humble me, teach me discipline, or make me question what I’ve been doing with my faucets for the last decade. But here we are. Six months into owning this bottle of CLR, and I feel like I’ve been living through a home-improvement documentary narrated by a disappointed father figure. Let me take you back. ⸻ The Day I Realized My Apartment Was a Crime Scene It all started when I opened the shower door one morning and caught the light hitting the faucet wrong — and by wrong, I mean I suddenly saw every calcium deposit, every chalky streak, every mineral buildup I had apparently been ignoring like a red flag in a relationship. I had two choices: 1. Accept that I was living in the geological remains of the Titanic, or 2. Finally use the gallon of CLR I bought on impulse out of adult guilt. I chose chaos. I poured a little on a cloth, wiped it once, and something happened that should honestly be illegal: the stain disappeared. Not lightened. Not faded. Vanished. Like CLR walked in and said, “Move. I got this.” That’s when I realized this product wasn’t a cleaner — it was authority. ⸻ Month 1: The Seduction Phase This was the honeymoon stage where I thought I was in control. I used it on a shower tile, a faucet, a sink drain. Everything cleaned instantly. No scrubbing. No sweat. It felt like magic. Like sorcery. Like I shouldn’t be allowed to buy this without signing a government document. I started walking around my apartment looking for things to fix. It was a power trip. ⸻ Month 2: The Obsession By this point, I was cleaning things no one asked me to clean. • A rusty screwdriver • A metal pan from 2014 • A shower head so clogged I thought it needed last rites • The weird ring on the toilet bowl that mocks you no matter how much you scrub Every time, CLR won. Effortlessly. Almost disrespectfully. I felt like I was living with a liquid terminator. ⸻ Month 3–4: The Power Shift This is when the bottle started to change me. I didn’t even feel like the person doing the cleaning anymore. CLR was the one in charge. I was just the human transportation device holding it. My friends would come over and ask, “Why does your faucet look brand-new?” I’d shrug and whisper, “CLR.” I’d say it like a forbidden spell. ⸻ Month 5: The Existential Month This is when I started to question my entire life. Who was I before CLR? Why did I accept mineral buildup as a personality trait? Why did I live like a raccoon with a lease? The biggest realization was this: I hadn’t even put a dent in the gallon. A six-month war against limescale and rust — and the jug still looked full. At this point, I’m convinced this stuff refills itself. ⸻ Month 6: Acceptance I’ve now become the person who tells other people to buy CLR with the same intensity of someone recommending their favorite TV show. I’ve used it on: • faucets • shower tiles • metal pots • old appliance parts • a calcified sink drain • a shower head that went from “sad drizzle” to “hotel pressure” Every time, it wins. Every time, I stand there holding the cloth like, “There’s no way this should be legal.” It cleans so well you start questioning what your other products were even doing. ⸻ What you need to know (so you don’t lose your eyebrows) This stuff is powerful. Respect it. This is not an “everyday bathroom spray.” This is a chemical mercenary. • Ventilate the room • Use gloves • Do NOT mix with anything • Apply with intention, not curiosity But if you want results? Real results? This is it. This is the endgame. ⸻ Pros • Dissolves calcium, lime, and rust like it’s settling old beef • No scrubbing needed • A single gallon lasts longer than most relationships • Revives appliances and fixtures like CPR for metal • Works fast — like instant gratification fast Cons • Makes every other cleaner in your house look like scented water • Forces you to confront how dirty your home actually was • You will become obsessed ⸻ Final Thoughts: The Jug That Redefined Clean Six months in, I can confidently say this: CLR is not a cleaning product. It is a lifestyle change. It is a reckoning. It is the closest thing I’ve found to pressing “reset” on parts of my home I thought were permanently ruined. If you’re ready for a domestic glow-up you didn’t know you needed, buy it. Just be warned — once you experience what this does, you won’t be able to go back.
Review: Incredible - Rarely rarely and hardly never write a review. I've lived in my home, everything pristine and new into an area with incredibly hard water. Tried various chemicals over the last 25 years and nothing seemed adequate in even touching the rust stains in the shower. Yes I do have a water softener and shortly use the rust out salt in it. This stuff diluted 50/50 with water worked so good. I sprayed it on, waited not even a minute and used a body scrubbing rag just lightly rubbing it in and then rinsed off. I've included some pictures to show the after and so sorry I didn't take any of the before. But you couldn't see thru the glass at all and the walls were so rusty stepped out was so embarrassing for anyone to see. So judge for yourself and write with any questions and I'll try to respond to anyone. Thank you CLR for an amazing product.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Works great and a more economial size
*by M***L on September 3, 2020*

We have well water that tastes great, but has a lot of lime/calcuim. CLR works great to dissolve calcium build up from plumbing fixtures and rust or calcium build up in the toilet bowl. For toilets, we just dump a cup or two into the bowl, pouring it along the rim to soak as much as possible. It fizzes and breaks up any rust or calcium. If we've gone a while between treatments, we'll leave it in overnight and go in a couple times with a toilet brush to agitate it and re-wet the rim and bowl. A light brushing removes any remaining deposits with ease. For shower heads, it's best if you remove them and soak them in a plastic or glass bowl. We place the head face down in the bowl and pour the CLR into the pipe fittingvto thoroughly soak the inside and clean any screens or diffusers. Fill the bowl enough to ensure saturation of the jets. Usually 15 minutes will do it, you can lift it and watch how the liquid flows out to confirm it's clean. You should see nice, even individual streams as the head drains when you lift it. If it dribbles or some jets are still clogged, just soak longer. We have oil rubbed bronze fixtures and the solution has not affected the finish at all. If you can't or want to remove the shower head, you can put some in a zip loc bag and tie it over the head in place. This works best for routine maintenance where it's not super clogged. You can do the same on sink faucets, etc. to keep the aerator clean and water flowing smoothly. Be sure to open any windows/doors and use fans to ventilate, this can harm your eyes and lungs. Rinse the whole shower well after this kind of treatment as it can break down grout over time. If possible, removing the shower head and soaking it outside is really the safest and right way to do it *NOTE: Be very careful when turning on the fixtures after treatment, especially if you used the ziplock bag method. This is an acidic solution that can burn your eyes and lungs and any remaining product inside the fixture will be sprayed out on first use. I have a rainshower head that always surprises me how much liquid can be inside it when turned off, and more comes out depending upon the angle you hold it at, this means you might have baffles that can hold CLR and disperse it when you turn the water on, even if you think it's empty. I've gotten some on my skin and washed it off promptly with no issues, but it could burn those with fair or soft skin if left on for any amount of time. I would imagine it would injure your eyes instantly. Be sure to rinse the fixture well before use and wash any residue off of sinks, tile or grout to prevent damage or staining. This is a great product but you have to be careful; wear gloves, eye protection and do not let fumes build up or inhale them. Keep kids and pets out of the treatment area to avoid any accidents.
