There is no way to determine if these are off or on by just looking. They are supposed to be turned off when first charging them, but since I couldn't tell the switch position, tried for a couple days both ways. You are supposed to be able to hear a slight buzz when charged and working, but I was never able to hear anything, Also, at the time of purchase, I didn't realize so many of the reviews listed were for a totally different item. What a waste of time. Will start the process for returning them now.

Have been using the Diaotec Mole Spikes since June 2020 with eight in use today and have found them to be very effective, easy to use and reliable with only one failure after months of use. They stay in the ground year long. We have fought moles for years killing one with a trap after damaging yard trying to get trap in the right place. The sonic spike helps keep the mole confined to an area away from the grass as pictures show the other side of walkway. Very satisfied with this product.

First, each device comes in 2 separate pieces. The directions indicate that all you have to do is screw them together as the wires should be already connected, but they are NOT and luckily I have small fingers as I had to first use needle nosed pliers to wedge the shorter half (which ended about an inch below the rim of the first piece) in place to start the connection of the two wires - couldn't press hard enough to fully connect or the pliers couldn't hold it in place and couldn't actually grab it with the pliers or there wouldn't be enough room to actually fit the other wire in the narrow tube/stake. Then, once it was partially plugged together I would then have to reach in with my thin, small fingers to finish the connection. There is NO was my husband would have been able to complete the set up.After that, I placed them upright in a window that gets over 7 hours of sun a day for 2 days to charge (per instructions). Turned them on to receive only about 2-3 seconds of hummm before they peter out and run out of juice. Charged for 2 more days outside in full, all-day sun without better results.I have no idea if these actually repel moles or not as they won't stay on.Already started the return process!

The product itself is OK. Comes apart when you try to remove it from the ground but easy enough to put back together. The problem is that it doesn't work. The vole dug a hole about 6 inches from the spike. It didn't deter that critter at all. There was another hole about 2 feet from the other spike. The little vibrating buzzy sound does nothing to deter the voles from hanging around. They probably use the vibration and a massage since they don't seem to mind the vibration or noise it makes. Had better luck just putting my cats poop by the holes in the ground. Save your money.

I was so excited to get these because of the reviews but found that the wires connecting the head to the spike were not connected so the unit wouldn’t vibrate. I figured out a way to take the unit apart and connect them myself. No instructions on this problem. So if the unit doesn’t work that is probably the problem.

We charged them for couple of days in the sun then installed into the ground in our garden where the moles kept bothering the vegetables. You can here the noise they make if you are nearby. They seem to be working good since installing a month ago, no mole holes have been seen since. And we like the yellow color so they are easy to find amongst the weeds/grass growing. Worth the price!

I gave this product ample time to work, all the way to outside of my return window. I thought they were working a few weeks into having them, but went out this morning and I have mole tracks all around the device. Didn't phase them at all apparently. In fact, I'm sure a mole may have run into one and had to simply keep digging around it. Complete waste of money.

Bought this to fight the moles digging up my lawn. Installed them at suggested distance based on the instruction manual only to see that the moles were digging up holes right next to when I installed this repellent.Bought 4 and eventually two ended up not working as well as I never heard any sound from it.Do not recommend anyone to buy this item. Just a waste of money
