Superunknown [2 LP]

Good album decent...sound quality.

This is another Album that was stolen from me, so I replaced it with this one.

I love this album. It sounds great on my new system. The price is great. I forgot to add one little detail to my review. All the song titles come up in Spanish on my car's cd player. But not the songs on the cd. But that's ok, already know the line up by heart. I love this band.

I bought this album because there were a few songs I liked such as "Black Hole Sun" (yes, I actually like the song. I don't understand why people hate it so much), "The Day I Tried to Live," and "Fell on Black Days" and just hoped the rest of the album would hold up even halfway decently so I'd get my money's worth. Ever since, I've been listening to this album a lot. While the individual songs are great, they seem to work the best together in the album. I'll listen to a song like "Spoonman" and then won't be able to stop until the album is over because all the songs blend so well together. I recommend this album to anyone who is a fan of grunge or hard rock. It's very dark, but a great album that works best as a whole.

First of all, I want to say this is one of my all time favorite albums. Can’t tell you how many times I listened to this CD growing up and later on my phone... Been wanting this on vinyl for some time now. My only issue and why this didn’t get 5 stars is that, and as another reviewer mentioned, side 1 seems somewhat muted and somewhat “compressed” compared to the rest of the album. I got up to see if a setting on my system was changed...nope. Flipped it over and the rest of the album was perfect. Not sure what the deal is with the first side. The records are of great quality. Zero static or cracks.

Anyone who said this was not mastered well or that this is a bad pressing probably has a really bad turntable setup or maybe are listening through plastic ipod headphones. This pressing while not the cutting edge of audiophile grade sounds really nice on a reference system! 2xHS8's, 1xHSs Driven through a AT-PL120 Nag naked cartridge. Remember a bunch of these songs were recorded prior to the majority of computer digital systems tape banging distortion off the compressor that's just part of this grunge era sound. Instead of perfect everything you got some crunch and fuzz. I personally think it all comes across just great on this album. 100% worth the buy Chris's voice comes out as pure as silk nestled in deep chunky guitar riffs.

A Classic outing from Soundgarden. Just Epic. Holds it's own now even after 30 years!!!
