We live in an area with extremely hard water. Our popup bathroom drains started becoming hard to pop (you can hear the scraping sound), and we feared that one day they wouldn't open up again. Despite spraying CLR bathroom spray on the mechanism (which did help), one by one they stopped pushing down. We watched youtube videos, read forums, but nothing worked.When you replace the old, if your popup mechanism is stuck and won't unscrew, try spraying some CLR bathroom spray and let it soak in for a few minutes (maybe 5). You can also try WD-40 but use it sparingly as it is oil you're putting down your drain. It may take a little muscle still, but I used needle nose pliers and they came out.I worked months on different solutions to fix what we had until I finally threw up the white flag. These are brass, they fit standard popup drains perfectly and work great. I intend to buy more just knowing that we'll need them again at some point.

I'm super upset with this product!!!! The metal is so cheap that just tightening the drain cap managed to rip the metal. Removal from the sink was then impossible because the metal crumbled under the force of a pair of pliers making it impossible to unscrew. As far as I'm concerned this company owes me not only a refund on the product but also the cost of replacing a perfectly good sink drain that ill now have to replace. Terrible, terrible product!!!!!

While the length was a tad off or worry_some for me, it all worked fine in the end. It was easy to install and I have a spare saved for any future problems (I bought a 2-pack).

My faucet's original ones were hard to press down and one actually snapped when I went to press it down. These worked great as a replacement and now it works smoothly. Recommend buying!
