Audio Technica AT-VMN95EBK Elliptical Stylus for use with Cartridge AT-VM95E (Black)

Excellant sound quality . Good replacement budget stylus for Audio Technica turntable LP 70X . Its an elliptical stylus better sound quality than conical stock stylus of Lp 70x .

This Black colored elliptical stylus (AT-VNM95EBK) is similar to AT-VNM95E (Green one). Black color is used for aesthetic appeal. Performance wise there is no difference. I want to thank the seller for the attractive price tag!!!

Though covered by Amazon Prime and sold by 100% rated genuine seller, I bought this stylus with a pinch of salt as the selling price here is much lower than its price quoted by AT and other hifi shopping sites, which is generally unlikely in practice. One Bar code couldn't point to the product. However, the original barcode printed on the original box (beneath the glued sticker) points correctly to the product. Keeping aside the above factor, the actual performance of the stylus is found to be pretty excellent. The stylus got set perfectly in AT-VM95 body replacing my default "E", the green one, in my LP120XUSB TT. It tracks as good as the Green one, which I have checked. The sound is excellent without any distortion. Excellent buy considering the price.

Very good stylus, perfect replacement for the VMN95 cartridge. Quality of sound is very good, crisp, clear. Good bass and audio separation. Plus, I like the black one instead of green, it looks more slick!

This stylus is really good value with one bonus and a biggy at that. It is black! Bought to replace the green version. Same thing but black. I could have used a felt pen. Purely cosmetic. As for the stylus itself....here goes. I have always used Ortofon. No more. Nothing wrong with Ortofon but Audio Technica suits my system and that is it! This stylus is very revealing and handles all types of music producing quite a sweet sound. I own a £400 Audio Technica cartridge/stylus. Obviously superior but I have to ask myself, is it worth the price difference? Where hi-fi is concerned, the law of diminishing returns really does apply. Being truthful, when I fitted my expensive cartidge it was quite a shock. It sounded exactly the same.......at first. Excluding a bit more bass the main differences were the higher frequencies. A lot sweeter. The main bit being the 'S' factor. Singing the word 'sweet' sounded like 'shweet' in some cases. Expensive = 'sweet'. There are other improvements that follow suit regarding the expensive but the price difference really isn't worth it unless you are a serious listener. This is a great stylus and cheap! One thing to think about is the fact that the entire range fits the same cartridge. You can upgrade to a better quality stylus without the hassle of changing the cartridge. All will improve the sound cost dependant. Do you need to?
