A Course Called Scotland: Searching the Home of Golf for the Secret to Its Game

Boring book
Bought it for my father who is an avid golfer and has played a lot of Scottish courses, Dad was dissapointed and just about managed to finish it, said it got boring quite soon in, I tried reading it and didn't get through the first chapter. We feel it is over hyped!

Not a good book
Cliched, repetitive, vague. Learned more about the author’s worries about his own golf than anything else. If you want to read about golf in Scotland try Preferred Lies or Golf in the Kingdom. Ok course map.

Great Read
A great book by Tom for anyone visiting Scotland and wanting to play golf here. I feature in the book (so I am slightly biased!!) for the 1562 Course at Montrose (the 5th oldest in the world), but genuinely the book is a good read and Tom really gets to the point and pleasure of golfing in Scotland.
