Practically chip-proof, smooths out and fills in small imperfections in the polish, high shine. The only top coat I use, and I’ve tried many.

I bought the gel couture kit with Fairy Tailor. It came quickly. This was my first time using Essie polish. I love this polish! I type all day and this holds up better than gel for me. It lasts 3 to 4 weeks for me with no chipping. My problem is the nail grows and I have a gap between the polish and cuticle. I am very hard on my nails and it lasts long. Also comes off easily with nail polish remover. I use remover with acetone.

I don't write a lot of reviews, but when I find something that actually lives up to the hype, I want to share with others. I do water aerobics, have a hot tub, and the chlorinated water is rough on my nails. They were peeling and chipping. I didn't want to do gel manicures due to the UV exposure. I tried dip nails, but the prep involved took layers and layers off my nail bed which only made things worse. I kept seeing articles about Essie Gel Couture and how easy it is to use and that it actually lasts up to two weeks so I figured it was worth a try and would be much less expensive than salon manis. I honestly wasn't expecting it to last, but was so happy when after two classes and a hot tub soak, my nails still looked great. There was some fading of the color at the tips so I applied another coat of the top coat and got close to two weeks out of first and subsequent manicures. Plus, this color, Fab Florals, is truly beautiful. I have already bought two other colors. "Pinned Up" seems thinner and requires 3 coats, but I'm looking forward to trying the "Embossed Lady" when it arrives.

My favorite top coat to use. I double layer it to get the thickness I want, and my nail polish will last 2 weeks. A few times, I triple layered it and my polish lasted 3 weeks! And I don't baby my nails; I use them, roughhouse with my dogs, garden, play sports, etc., and they've held up. I find that they also make my nails dry a bit faster.I've used another popular brand of overcoat, but I find that it was more prone to bubbles. Essie doesn't have that issue. Highly recommend if you want close to a gel look and longevity.

I’m glad I got to try this Essie Gel Couture nail polish in Fairy Taylor. Color is milky light pink. It is not opaque, it’s more French manicure look. It took a few times to get used to it not to overwork it while applying. Less strokes is better, because if I continued doing more strokes the polish started to “tangle” and got messy. So, try not to rush, but do it quickly enough, so it doesn’t start to dry while applying it. When I did it first time, it came out a little streaky since I was rushing it a bit.Here, I did 2 layers here and 3rd layer is a topcoat. Topcoat gives a nice shine, similar to real gel. I like the nice and clean look.I am also pleasantly surprised how quickly this polish dries, so that is definitely a big plus. It dries within 10 mins (to the touch) and it’s fully dry within an hour.The only downside is it only lasts 3-4 days before it starts chipping. I am typically careful with my hands and use gloves. I typically wear this polish in this color for about 5 days before I take if off.It comes off easily with acetone free nail polish remover.

Absolutely love this brand! My nails look like I’ve been to the salon. Great coverage that lasts! Love this color. Perfect for spring.

I bought this top coat after seeing it recommended a lot on Reddit, and it has absolutely changed my nail polish game. I used to use a 2-in-1 base & top coat from Orly and the difference is night and day - I used to have to be extremely careful after applying the top coat so that nothing would smudge or smear (and it still inevitably would), but the Essie top coat sets so quickly and securely, locking in everything underneath. It's been over a week since I did my nails and it's only barely started to chip at the edges - in the past my nail polish would start chipping the very next day. (For reference, I paired it with the OPI Natural Nail base coat, also highly recommended.) This makes me excited to try doing my nails more often and looking into Essie polishes too. Try it, you won't regret it!
