Personally, when I use a toner, I would like to see if anything weird comes off with it. I like the pads. They are a bit textured but not at all rough. They work really well with the fruit acid and I can see anything that comes off (yucky oil more or less). If you prefer to use your hands or a sponge or whatever you probably won't want to go with these but if you prefer to squirt product on something and then run it over your face, I would highly recommend these. They are much better than the filmsy pads you buy at the drugstore or cotton balls.
