This thing works great!!
Very easy to install. Watch the video that is on the product details page. After installation I went ahead and bought a riser to raise it up about 18 inches higher. I live in an apartment that has air-conditioning but it’s one of those box air conditioners. So it cools down my kitchen and living room but never gets to my bedroom in the back. So each night I turn this on, put it on 68°, and turn it on high. I close my bedroom door and go make dinner or watch TV for a couple of hours. Once I come back and I am ready for bed I open my bedroom door and it’s nice and cold in here just like I like it!! As far as the noise goes, I like white noise when I sleep. I cannot sleep in complete silence. I have a standing fan right next to my bed that I use to keep me cool but also give me that white noise that I like. Unfortunately, for me, the air conditioner is too noisy for me to leave it on all night. But I don’t look at that as a negative. Because my bedroom cools down so well that once I turn on my fan and turn off the air conditioner I am good to go all night long.

Yes.
Way easy to set up (you dont even have to lift the unit from the box because the base of the box is secured by the crazy ribbon straps, which was nice). Way simple to set up. No stupid app none-sense. Shows a code when the tank has to be drained. Not crazy loud (if youre sensitive to noises while sleeping, it is more of a white noise, with hum; - wooden floors likely increase volume a bit but by no means would i place this on top of a towel...think it through). WAY COLD AC in an old house!!!! Kicks on to the temp you select. Probably going to buy another - fingers crossed it lasts the test of time cause that will be the true signal to buy another.

Fulfills its Purpose
I live in the PNW where not everyone has air conditioning (because historically it hasn't really been necessary, and even on the hottest days, it generally cools off nicely overnight, bringing relief). Now, with these new, unprecedented heat waves, I feel like I need a temporary air conditioner for maybe 10 or 15 days or so total over the summer to cool down the apartment a little bit on those still rare super-hot days. I don't really need a lot of cooling, as I'm actually comfortable even at about 85 inside. (It got to 100.3 in my apartment during our recent record-breaking heatwave (it was 116 outside), convincing me that it'd be a good idea to have an emergency air conditioner on hand even if I don't end up using it a lot.) So the fact that this unit is portable and can be quickly set up appealed to me. I can put it near my desk during the hot afternoon/evening and move it to the bedroom at night if needed, and then roll it into the closet for storage in between heat waves. The reasonable price was also a plus. The unit was very simple to set up even though my windows are weird. They swing open with a free hinge (can't leave them open when it's windy because they bang around). To install the exhaust hose, I had to tape up cardboard to cover the rest of the open window, and use towels to block the gaps, so it's not the greatest seal/insulation, but that's not the fault of this product. The plastic holding frame for the exhaust hose isn't all that great—it didn't seem to hold onto the exhaust tube very well, and I ended up using duct tape there, too. No big deal. Again, this unit was purchased as a short-term, occasional-use product, and I knew that I'd have to jury-rig the exhaust, and I'm happy with that. The unit is a good deal louder than I had expected, but it doesn't really bother me. The air that comes out the vents is freezing cold! I had to roll it a little further from my desk that I'd originally planned. The thermostat works fine. I set it for 78 today as a test, and the unit turns on and off appropriately. It comes with a remote control, but I didn't even bother to but the batteries in. It's easy enough to just walk two steps and operate the machine from the logical, well-marked buttons on the machine. The machine is definitely capable of cooling my apartment more than enough to keep me comfortable during our occasional heat waves. If I lived in a hotter, more humid location and needed routine air conditioning, I doubt this unit would keep up, and I would opt for a professionally installed window unit.

Decent A/C and Excellent Customer Service
I was honestly on the fence about getting this unit; I was hesitant because there seemed to be decent number of people experiencing issues with portable air conditioners, especially with units leaking water. Later research into the issue yielded that water leaking issues are usually due to “short cycling,” and is usually due to restricted airflow not the units themselves. I ended up taking my chances with this company’s offering and while this air conditioning unit itself is nothing particularly special, it performs its intended function and the same features of most any generic portable air conditioning unit, the customer service for this company is absolutely wonderful. It takes a fair bit to impress me, but I can honestly say this company managed it. Unfortunately it seem that I received a defective unit, but after reaching out to customer service, they were ready and willing to quickly make it right. After several days of deliberation due to technical difficulties, customer service elected to refund me for the defective unit. I greatly appreciate the time an effort the customer service spent in trying to help remediate the problem with my unit. Moving on from the excellent customer service experience, I have a still usable unit, it just sounds like being in the interior of the old school bus riding down an uneven road. I feel obliged to warn others that this unit can’t keep up with excessive heat (40°C+); during the heat wave that rolled through the Pacific Northwest this unit fought with all its might but the temperature still slowly climbed. This was due in part because of being on the second floor of a two story house that is usually 10-15°C higher temperature than outside during summer months, but also because the unit just couldn’t keep up with the increasing temperature. When it comes to cooling off versus maintaining a cooler climate, I found the unit more effective at simply maintaining temperature rather than trying to fight to lower the temperature once it starts getting uncomfortable. Take away: worthy air conditioner unit for the price and a cut above customer service.

Nice and cold
I really love this!! Really better then the window kind, a bit noisy but cools room GREAT! It a bit noisy but not enough to keep me from sleeping and does have a remote. No getting out of bed to adjust it. Well worth the money. I bought 3 other window ac' over 10 years all more nosey and none of them cooled the cooled the room like this does. Sometime I have to turn it to fan only because it a little too cold.

Good but noisy...
It cools my bedroom down quite well. I had to shorten the window insert a little and add about a 2x2 board in my window but thats not a big deal at all. However it is very loud. The loudness at night frankly annoys me. Also while it runs it doesn't display the current room temperature. It only displays the temperature you set it on. When its off though it does display the room temperature.

Very reliable.
My small bedroom gets hot during all seasons but especially summer. When using this unit, it was very easy to set up. The vent was a plus. It also has wheels to maneuver in perfect place. Cooled off the entire room. The lights are a little bright at night if you want a dark room. It is a little noisy but not unbearable.

Works well to cool a large bedroom.
This TECCPO TAK04C, 8000 BTU portable air conditioner was acquired to use in one room of a home that temporarily lacked working air conditioning. It was used at a time when daily peak temperatures reached 95 to 100 degrees. Without any air conditioner, it was not uncommon for the indoor temperature to reach 91 degrees (or more) in the late afternoon and evening. This air conditioner was used in a single relatively large (about 11 x 14) bedroom to provide a refuge from the heat while sorting and organizing things for an elderly friend who was unable to do such things for himself. I stayed at his house for a couple of weeks straight to finish this work for him, since the distance was too far from my own home to commute back and forth. The room had a sliding glass door, and it was not too difficult to make a an interface for the hose (and something to block the area above and below) out of cardboard. The supplied parts are intended for a window rather than a sliding glass door, and I am not faulting the unit for that. This air conditioner easily kept the room temperature down to about 75 degrees, with the compressor running only about half of the time during the hottest part of the day, and the unit did not need to be used at all during cooler parts of the day. It could have cooled the room even more with a greater compressor duty cycle. The electric bill was noticeably higher when the unit was used (by about $30 per week in 2021), but being able to keep one room in the house cool made a huge difference during the two weeks that the unit was used. The regular air conditioning in the house was fixed at a later date, when it could be scheduled. I can't speak to its long term reliability of this unit because there was no need to use it after those few weeks. However, I did test the unit a year later and it still worked OK. The unit was difficult for me to move around (I have a bad back), but it should not be all that difficult for a person of normal strength to move around. It has fairly small wheels on the bottom that don't work too well on thick carpet, but I put the unit on a dolly that had bigger wheels to make it easier to move. The only down sides are that the tolerances for the filter and water drainage were a little loose, and the large 6 inch air hose let a lot of daylight into the room. I solved the latter problem by shielding the hose with some black plastic. The compressor sound is a little loud, but it did not wake me up at night. The main thing is that this unit worked fine for the intended use, and I have no regrets in buying it.
