These are, by far, my favorite pencils for woodworking! They combine the ease of use of mechanical pencils with the sturdiness and practicality of carpenters' pencils. The sheath is handy for keeping your pencil's point sharp and will stay clipped to your pocket when you pull the pencil out. The black "lead" is standard graphite, while the other colors have a more waxy consistency, more suited for working on metal and plastic. I've seen similar designs, but this one is unique in that the squared profile keeps the pencil from rolling and the sharpener integrated into the sheath is much more convenient, in my opinion, to other brands that have a sharpener that you have to unscrew from the cap on top of the pencil.

Awesome pencil

Bought an OX pencil after using my friends at a job site and I was so impressed that I went ahead and purchased two. This one comes with multiple color replacement leads which come in handy for some of the projects. They work great and I do not have broken lead or constant sharping time...just click and mark at will.

This has been a good pencil for the most part. Like the slim profile even in the case. The clip kept the case in my pants pocket most of the time. The pencil has functioned fine until recently after a year of hard use. Im a plumber so I lay down on it and mash it into rough conditions fairly often. It seems to work better with the graphite leads as they are harder than the waxy feeling colored leads. From time to time I had issues with the lead tip being sheared off after I pulled the pencil from its case. I believe I hooked the lead into the side holes in the top of the case when I couldn’t take my eye off my work and frequently pulled the pencil in and out. It is a good pencil! I would recommend it for people that tend to keep their pencil out on a workbench rather than frequent “reholstering” out in the field. The pocket clip finally broke after a year of hard use so I will be keeping this as a backup in my service bag.

I had an issue with the first one I bought but reached out to the manufacture and they were great in resolving. this pencil will replace all that I have. I can mark on any surface that is any color since I have a choice of white, black, red and yellow. It works every time and has a built-in sharpener. It is fine enough and designed to fit in tight spaces. It clips on my belt/apron/pants/tool bag, so it is handy whenever I need it. I would highly recommend this pencil

I have a few different versions of this type of pencil but the Ox is my go to these days. The configuration of sharpener is the reason I go for this one more often. I also find that the "holster" retention for this pencil is better than some of the others out there.

I use this daily. Have been for a year or so now. Does a great job of marking wood, walls, concrete, etc. I treat it bad, really bad. I once dropped it 2 stories and survived. Still clicks and still writes. The tip fell off though. Had to sharpen it again.

This product really does work great. I was a little nervous about the square design. Once I received the product in my hand I was marking on everything. I Work in a plant that builds metal wall panels and metal trusses. Sometimes the metal is wet from dew or rain and markers get wet their no good. I was marking things in the rain today and it worked flawless. I ordered 5 more for my cutting crew.

Adjustment: I wrote to Ox and they are sending a replacement so moved the score to 5. This is my second Ox pencil. It’s a newer design to my first and dad to say it’s just stopped working. Will not release the lead as the metal core falls out. My first purchase is still working fine except the plastic bits that hold it in the case have worn down and it kept falling out - hence the second purchase. All in all very disappointed.
