A peek behind the curtain.....
Well I liked it. I see some reviewers have not liked it but I found it a good read about some of the behind the scenes bits of all the touring the Top Gear team did.For me it did what it said on the tin and gave me a small insight into my three heroes when on tour - Good and Bad.Thank you Philippa for writing it.

Eye opener to how TG presenters work
This book shows its not just rock starts who can party every night. The amount of alcohol that seems to be consumed seems to run through the whole of this book. These was a lot of "you had to be there" stories. That said it was still a good insight into how what we see on TV each week, to how the 3 stars behaved on tour was very different indeed.

Okay but good have been better.
This was quite readable, but a bit shallow. I was interested to find out more about behind the scenes on the specials. Are they as gruelling as depicted or is it all just for the cameras? Unfortunately the book was focused more on Top Gear the car show and quickly became a bit tiresome to read, and somewhat depressing to find out just what a primma donna Clarkson can be.

If you like Top Gear you will love this book.
If you were a true fan of Top Gear you will enjoy this! The TV programs were mad , but when team perform their Live shows their antics off stage are more bizarre than I would have imagined .... cricket with AC/DC on a beach, now that WOULD have made great TV!! Fascinating insight into what happens off camera!!An easy summer read and provides much needed laughter.

very funny, great insight
A very funny book about what went on behind the scenes on tour with the boys. Great fun to read about what they got up to and without this book we would never know anything about it.

Great read
What an insight to the backstage access of the Top Gear boys. Nice gentle read, with great sense of humour you almost feel that you are also on the tour.

Tedious....sorry.
I was looking forward to this, but, oh, what a tedious read.It reads as if it was written by someone looking through a window at whatever is occurring on the other side.Very much a, "Clarkson said this, Hammond did this, May said that", it's a bit of a 'Groundhog Day ' of 'luxury hotel here, fabulous yacht, there' recollections, of a very busy, professional set up, in fantastic locations, that could have been taken from someones diary of events. Was it?.......It's an arms length account, devoid of excitement, by someone who has shown how the three main men, (and many others), worked, partied, and when tired, threw their toys out of the cot, and did it all again next day!I wasn't aware of the relationship between the author and Clarkson, and wasn't particularly interested, but her description of the relationship is sparse, and doesn't show him in a very good light.I nearly gave up, 1/3rd, of the way in, but manfully stuck with it to the end. I wish I hadn't!If you are looking for a lively, funny, laugh out loud fly- on-wall read,.......go somewhere else.

Fascinating
fascinating insight into ‘life behind the scene’ of these charismatic characters. A must read for any Top Gear fan written in entertaining fashion by Phillipa Sage..... a girl in the know.!!

Very enjoyable, insights into the making of the Live shows.
A refreshing view of the wok required to produce the TopGear Live shows. A great insight into the people that make the "stars" of the show shine.
