Having gone through baggage check and being slightly over weight one to many times I purchased this INSPIRA Luggage scale to prevent this from happening. The scale if very easy to use, just wrap the strap around the luggage handle, turn the unit on and lift the baggage by the scale to get an accurate weight immediately. The scale seems to be built very well and I've lifted bags up to 70 pounds with no apparent flexing or strain on the scale or connecting hardware. The weight is displayed very quickly so you don't have to hold up the luggage very long. The scale itself is small and has negligible weight itself so after weighing the luggage I drop it in the luggage to take on the trip with me making it easy to re-weigh the bag before the return trip. The design of the scale is smooth and rounded on the surface where your hand are lifting the weight of the luggage so it doesn't cut into your hands making it very comfortable to lift. The display for the weight can be set to either imperial pounds or kilograms and is very clear and easy to read. I have already recommended the INSPIRA Luggage Scale to several of my family and friends and would recommend this to anyone regardless of the frequency of your travel. It could save you the embarrassment and inconvenience of having to open your luggage and remove items to make weight while a crowd of travelers waits behind you.

There's seriously nothing worse than getting to the airport to find out your luggage is overweight. And sorry, it's a pain to try and weigh it on a traditional bathroom scale. But this scale makes it easy as can be and is VERY accurate! The battery lasts a really long time (in fact, I'm not sure I've ever had to replace it) and it's easy enough to through in your bag once you know you're not over the weight limit. I never leave on a trip without it.
