Viva Labs Non-GMO Organic Spirulina Powder, 16 oz.

I want to love this product, especially with its price point (have you seen the cost of green powders?). For over a year, I've been on the green powder kick. While I want to be healthy, the main reason I drink them is for the natural energy. So far, I must have tried 15 different brands of green power to find those that worked best for me - and I do have some standbys - but I am always trying others to see if I can add them to the rotation.The plus is, the taste of Viva Labs Optimal Greens is better than most. Although what can you expect when you mix a multitude of different veggies together, it's bound to taste funky. A little fruit juice in the water covers a multitude of taste sins (and drinking fast).Two reasons why I will not be buying it again. First, it doesn't give me that natural rush that some other green powders have given me. Second, and perhaps more importantly, I seem to have an allergy to one of the ingredients. On the three separate occasions I've drank this Viva Labs green drink, I got a headache within 30 minutes. When I try new powders, I make sure I space out other food/drink so I can assess how I feel, so I know the headaches were not triggered by another food, etc.But, here's why I am on the fence, the price point on this product is really good, I am used to paying $23-40 for similar sized products (ouch, since I do two drinks a day, it gets pricy). And, as evidenced by all of the products out there, not one product works for everyone. What works for me, may not work for you. So, keep an open mind. For the price, it's worth trying it. And, if it works for you, it will be worth its price in gold.

I have several products from Viva labs and have not been disappointed in any of them. I received the Spirulina Powder for a free or reduced cost in exchange for my honest opinion. I had never tried any form of Spirulina before. From all of my research this product has numerous health benefits. I am on a weight loss journey and spirulina is one of the supplements that was recommended to aid in weight loss. "According to the FDA, Spirulina contains significant amounts of calcium, niacin, potassium, magnesium, B vitamins and iron. It also has essential amino acids (compounds that are the building blocks of proteins). In fact, protein makes up about 60 to 70 percent of Spirulina's dry weight". I use the product in my morning vegetable smoothies. It doesn't matter what color your smoothie was before you add the powder it will be a vibrant green once you add the powder. The powder has a pretty bad smell but once added to smoothies you no longer smell the powder. I also don't experience any different taste when added to fruit and vegetable smoothies. Because of the claimed health benefits it's worth a try to me. An easy way to get in essential nutrients if you don't eat well. Photo is two handfuls of baby spinach, kale, and chard, 1.5 cups of frozen peaches and 2 cups of water, and 1 tsp of spirulina.

I don't have a lot of history with powder supplements, I can't compare to other products. I purchased this product because I don't have the best diet, and very low energy, and thyroid issues, I have taken the supplement every morning for a week, and am already finding that my energy has increased. I mix it with water and the flavor isn't bad. I tend to have reactions to food and was pleasantly surprised to find that I do not react to the ingredients in this supplement.

This actually tastes decent. I have tried a number of green powder drinks that I mix with V-8 and a bit of fresh lemon juice and can manage to drink it -- the Viva Labs Greens I mix in plain water and it is OK. Slightly sweet (due to Stevia) and slightly tart with very minimal "green" taste. I am hoping for positive long term benefits.

My son loves this. I buy this for him. He says it helps him with his digestion and he takes it to make sure he's getting all his vitamins and to help maintain his weight.I tried taking it but it didn't agree with me. But this is like the 5th canister I order for my son.So it may not agree with everyone.

I add this to my green drinks. Can't claim that is has boosted my health but it encourages me to continue to eat healthy foods.

In an effort to make my smoothie bowls that popular 'mermaid' teal color, I decided to give this a try. I'm pretty happy with the results of the smoothies that I add it to. The only downside is that it smells like fish food. Honestly, I think the product is great for what I was expecting but the smell turns me off when I initially open the lid. Of course, you don't taste it when it's blended with fruits, so it's easy to overcome that.

I switched to Optimal greens from Greens First do to their price increases. I am pleasantly surprised.optimal Greens taste just as great even better and mix well and the price is so affordable. I feel the strength and boost from the greens that I got with other green drinks and even more so. I feel this product is stellar and a must have for optimal health. Thanks.
