UPDATE: July 16, 2016Battery life: I disabled the notifications and it has increased my battery life about 1 to 2 days (depending if I use the music player with my LG BT headset) (Having this feature enabled, your gear fit 2 will constantly stay connected to your mobile device)Auto-detection exercise: Today I hopped on an elliptical and the gear fit 2 knew and started keeping track without me even touching the device. Also, someone complained about the charging connection and why it isn't like our phones. The reason for this is WATER RESISTANT. Any other connection type would compromise this feature, so please keep that in mind.First review:After having the Geat Fit 2 for 5 days now. I thought I would be able to give a useful and unbiased review. In terms of functionality, style and comfort this product lives up to it's name. There are many factors, when you talk about how accurate the Gear Fit 2 is. I do not know what are the conditions of the other reviewers, however I will post what my settings are and the things i've noticed.Settings: I have the BT and location setting on at all times. The step count appears to be accurate. I don't count my steps, as the Gear Fit 2 uses the GPS, Accelerometer, Gyro, Barometer to determine a lot of the activities it monitors. For example, if you are walking and don't swing your arm. The only way the device notices movement is by the GPS.The HR monitor is fairly close to accurate (I will post a picture of my results using the Gear Fit 2 and my Pulse Oximeter) I can also go back in history and see the fluctuations in my heart rate.NOTE: These are not medical grade products!!!!!!!!!!Excerise activity: I've only used the running option. It recorded the miles and mapping of my run accurately. As I drove in my car the same route and came up with the same mileage.Floors option: I find it to be NOT accurate, however there is an explanation. The Gear Fit 2 uses GPS and Barometer to determine elevation. So, if you are climbing steps and there is no GPS connection. You will not get an accurate reading, as you also need to know what is the standard of steps per floor, to determine the accuracy. This feature is not important for me to really care for the results.BT connection: Works great with my Galaxy Note 5 and LG BT headset.Music Player: I was able to add approx. 70+ songs and control the music player using my LG BT headset.Notification: I would receive my notification within seconds of my phone getting the notification.Love the fact I can keep track of other things, such as sleep, water, caffeine and etc.Now in terms of the security of the clasp of the Gear Fit 2. I've worn my Gear Fit nearly 24hrs a day since receiving it (only taking it off for taking a shower and I sleep with it as well). It has only unsnapped once and I think that was because of my error. Throughout the day, I move from two positions depending on my body changes.THE ONLY NEGATIVE: Battery life is lasting me about 2 days, it may last longer if i made a few adjustments. However I prefer my settings.

Love love love it! Now includes accuweather forecast display feature.
**I have the SMALL band, not M/L**Update 9/7/16 Finally the stair tracking feature seems to work. Yes they are still updating the software correcting and adding features. There are dedicated watch face/theme developers making beautiful/elegant (IMO) themes, some are 'live'; so cool, I think, even on the small screen. And many of the newer themes/"faces" support the accuweather forecast display. Several tap into a calendar linked to your phone to display appointments and tasks. A few programmers have found the calculator and other easter eggs. It has a vibrating alarm feature. I've used it daily for the past couple of weeks. IF the watch is on my dominant hand and the vibration is on the palm side of my wrist (more sensitive) it wakes me just fine (I am not what you'd call a 'light sleeper'). It's not traditional I guess but the watch is still visible to me.Usually it only takes me a few months to start shopping for a replacement for whatever new little gadget I get; the curse of an early adopter, I guess. But so far so good with my gear fit 2, I still love love love it!8/14/2016 there's been a software update or two. If you are looking for a stair tracker this isn't there yet. However I just used it on a hiking trip in Utah, and at the end I was rewarded with a ton of data including a full color map.Original review:**I have the SMALL band, not M/L** First two photos are inside brightness 4/10, last one is full Texas sun brightness 7/10. My wrist is NOT average, 5 inchest max. l have had my SGF2 for 10 days, bought it open box at a "box store". I wanted something that would capture active steps, estimate daily calorie burn over BMR , track multiple activities with GPS. and work well with the SHealth app and my phone (vs my fitbit HR; the app has limited data--most of the info i wanted to track was only on the Web version, but the coffin nail for me was that it took w a y too long to sync). This does all of that plus it gives me incentive to walk more, go up the stairs briskly, drink more water, check how restful my sleep really is, and notice patterns of daytime activities which lead to restless versus restorative sleep. All this plus a timer and stopwatch, phone/email/text/other app notifications, gorgeous color screen, lots of free "watchface" options, lots of customization options, all in a low profile device (5in wrist, HARD to find--), and have music access For LESS THAN $200 WITH TAX!!It uses about 1% per hour for battery depending on settings.BUT what won't it do? It won't count every stinkin'step you take, you have to get MOVING before it starts counting, it's true, but it makes sense if you think about it though. You have to haul it a bit to get "stairs" credit. But if you're walking briskly up a hill, it gives you "stairs" credit for that! Fantastic, that's what I want, to track my active motion. If I took 3 steps then stopped, I don't need to track THAT! Not for active & accurate calorie burn... little steps everybody takes--those are accounted for in BMR. That's why the apps ask what kind of job do you do/"are you sedentary, moderately active or a construction worker during the day...."....if you need credit for every single step you take, then this isn't for you. But I needed incentive to get off my tuchous and "work it" some. This does it ++!
