This Broken Wolf: Soul Bitten Shifter Book 2

Surprising in a Great Way!
First of all, loved it! This author proves time and time again that she excels at taking tried-and-true themes and tropes and spinning them into something magical and new and completely surprising in the best way. Shifters have been done a million times by now, but Tessa and Tristan are shifters like no others. I don’t want to spoil any of that, but this was definitely an awesome read. This book is a little darker, a little grittier, a little more violent, but it’s all to a purpose and makes sense for the storyline. Then, that ending, wow! I did not put this down a single time once I started reading, I couldn’t. The whole thing, start to finish, was amazing! I can’t wait for the next book!

A Journey of Endurance in the Face of Personal Darkness
Everly Frost hits it out of the park with the second book in her Soul Bitten Shifter series. The mythology and world-building pickup and become clearer in this book; with a wonderful mix of magics, and bits and pieces of Greek and Norse characters-of-legend. In true mythos fashion, this means the grit and darkness also increase.Resuming the story right where book one left-off, we get to witness the intense few moments following that insane ending. From there we embark on Tessa's journey forward. While still clearly in the wild and violent world described in book one, book two really narrows down to just Tessa. It centers on her struggles with the past, her family, actions, future, desires, and impulses (both human and beast). This is a story that really focuses on a single character's growth, and other characters only matter in how they affect her. Many of the supporting characters introduced in the first book don't make an appearance until the last 15-ish percent of this book. Honestly, I have a love-hate relationship with this form of story-telling. I love that this character is so clearly fleshed out. And that you can understand how she is influenced, broken, and reshaped. However, if you are a relationship-driven person, this may be a bit of a struggle to read. But then again, that is where I see the beauty. The lack of relationships, and how Tessa seeks companionship or not, highlight what is happening to her and the battles she is facing. Now just to clarify, the story may not be relationship-driven, but it still moves forward at a good pace and has a strong storyline. I would say that the unpredictability grows in response to the increase in darkness, but it all still makes sense. And once again we end on a cliff-hanger, this one even more of a doozy for me. Of course, the writing and editing continue to be fantastic. I found this especially important when jumping between the points-of-view of "Human Tessa" and "Wolf Tessa", which I enjoyed and easily followed.Again, the savagery of this world is key to Tessa's story, so I would say the same warnings are in place as book one. Tessa is a survivor, amd to understand that you have to experience what she is facing and what she has endured. From that perspective, I would warn that this is not for the faint of heart or those looking for feel-good fluff. There are scenes of violence (not crazy, but appropriate for this book-world) and the character is struggling with her darker feelings. I went back and forth between a 4 and 5 star rating, but settled on 4 because I can't recommend it to everyone. That said, This Broken Wolf is a fantastic tale and remains one of the most original shifter stories I've read. If you're okay with dark, gritty, and cliff-hangers, read this series! Seriously, start now. I am anxiously awaiting the next book!

Absolutely incredible!
This Broken Wolf is a dark and fantastic continuation of the Soul Bitten Shifter series. If you like dark books, this one is absolutely amazing. Tessa is now in the hands of her father. In this book she struggles to fight the darkness inside of her in order to save the wolves she love and care for. Her past, the things she finds out about herself, her father and the truth about what Tristan and Cody are. The storyline builds into something incredible.I love watching Tessa, how she grows and is so determine. This book made me so emotional, it's hard to put into words. You have to read the series and this book, it's so worth it! Now I can't wait to read the next book!

This Broken Wolf
A very dark book but it is staying in with the basis of the story. Tessa ends up in her real biological father's grasp. Everything she has known, is a lie. Her father is the worst person that she could end up with. He is Fenrir, Wolf of War. He has a warlock and a jotunn ice giant that works for him.Tristan and Tessa have a long way to go in order to overcome their fathers heritage. A different spin on the supernatural world but very spellbinding to read. Loved the first two books and ready for the final one.

Gah!
It was over way too soon. But in a good way. Everything was well-paced and I didn't get impatient to know more or get bored with any scenes. There were a lot of ways the story could have progressed, but somehow I was still a bit surprised by the turn of events—but in hindsight, it was the perfect way for the story to flow. I love how dark but delicious the story is, and I really like the MC and feel for her and Tristan. Damn it, now I just have to wait for the last installment. Urg!

This second book in the Soul Bitten Shifters series has once again knocked me on my butt. The story instantly drew me in and immersed me in the worl of Tessa and Tristan whom I pray will beat the odds! This series is different from other shifter books that I have read and I love the cool and imaginative take Everly Frost has come up with. I will be very anxiously awaiting the last book!!!

Excellent 2nd book
Action all the way through this 2nd book of the series. The storyline is developed further and their are new characters along the way. I never expected the twists around Cody. The three minds of Tristan is a new idea not found in any other book series. The writer is truly a genius in creativity. Sexual content. Highly recommended

This second book does not disappoint
Continuing directly on from the end of book 1 this book is a brilliant. The story moves on, relationships between the characters continue to evolve, definitely not annoyed, bored or needing a break from this story. Book 3 about to be devoured.

Not as good as the first
First book was great. I feel like half of this could have been left out and you still have the story you need. First half was boring and laborious. Too much internal dialogue and descriptions of surroundings, it felt like word count filling. I hope the final book is as good as the first.
