This is not a cheap product, is a bargain for the money, is very solid, strong, durable and well made.I you shoot video (like me) this is what you need, heavy and tough enough to work on you PRO Gimbal or med size ginbal. I had a problem with my new cage, for some reason it did not close the latch. I replaced for a second cage and it did exactly the same thing. I removed the latch rubber and it closes smooth less as it should be. I do not know the reasons why but it is working fine. I just wanted to be safe and secure. It is an awesome device.

Okay. So i uploaded pics of my case WITH the handle attachment connected cuz i just like it that way.The case has 2 cold shoe mounts (the handle adds in an extra cold shoe).The case has 12(quantity) 1/4” screw in attachments. That’s the little screw in hole that most camera equipment connects with. The handle you see inside the pictures is not included with the case but very much worth the purchase as well.The handle brings 3 additional holes & 1 cold shoe.All your normal buttons are protected with this case as is the camera area z& the speakers area.The rear panel near the cameras has quick lock holes for the 17mm lens attachments. I haven’t found those yet.This particular case that I’m doing this review on is strictly for the iPhone 12 Pro Max. It’s not designed to work on the i pop h h one 13pro max, smallrig made an entirely different case for the 13 pro max.Anyhow, if you enjoy being able to attach things to your phone like an external mic or an LED light or maybe an external battery - this case works wonderfully with those things.Small rig has never failed (for me) to produce high quality gear that extends the usefulness of my cameras & phones.It’s just a really cool case & you should totally get it.(Justin from North Carolina)

Wonderful case at a very reasonable price. I needed this to mount an iPhone 12 Pro Max on a Zhiyun Weebill S gimbal - the extra weight that this heavy case provides is perfect to ensure that the gimbal will work with the phone. When not using the gimbal I'll put the case and phone on a monopod with a small handheld recorder mounted on top, thanks to the abundance of 1/4 x 20 holes. The silent mode button needs a pen to turn it off and on, but that's not really a problem, as I turn on Airplane mode when shooting video anyway - and of course I'm not using this case for making phone calls - it's much heavier than my regular Moment case. Love that the SmallRig case can take my bayonet-mount 37mm filter adapter, because I do use Tiffen Glimmerglass 1, Black Satin 3, and 77mm ND filters. (Chunky!)

I never thought a more useful and protective option existed for the iPhone other than the Otterbox Defender, but the Smallrig is the new “king if the hill.” Sure, maybe that’s not the intended purpose of this cage, but I’m here to tell ‘ya, it excels as a protective case. The cold shoe and 1/4” attachment points make the overall utility of the cage outstanding. You can now mount anything to your iPhone — or the phone to anything. And it’s not just for attaching mics and lights. Shucks, if properly outfitted, this could transform your iPhone into an “urban defense weapon.” 🤔🤨🤯Build quality? This thing is built like a Sherman tank. And I like it — a lot.

If you are thinking about this, buy it. I have almost no regrets. The only things I wish this had were a plastic area on the back, to cover the exposed part of the phone (I rigged up my own), and a bigger assortment of filters. Otherwise, it's perfect. The phone easily fits in the cage and it's awesome being able to add items on to the phone, and mount it on a tripod, etc.One other flaw, SmallRig's M mount lenses don't easily attach to this. The rubber on the back seems like it's too tall, and doesn't allow for easy attachment, unless you have freakish hand strength.For the things it does well, it's pretty fairly priced. I'm happy I bought it.

This cage is BEASTLY! I love it! I needed a way to mount my iPhone to my DJI Ronin S gimbal and this is it. I did add an extra counterweight to make balancing it easier, but probably could’ve done without that. You can mount whatever you want to to this phone cage. The latch is very solid and secure. The whole case is solid and secure. I almost want to use it as my everyday case lol. I couldn’t believe how inexpensive it was too! Highly recommend.

UPDATE! Got another one and the rubber falls off again after a few weeks. Its actually not needed but it holds in a few buttons so you can't just throw it out. Wrote the company and got no reply. Don't waste your money it will happen to you too.Great product with a major defect. After only using for a few days over the return period the silicone track that your phone slides on has partially come off the frame where you slide the phone in. I looked up company support and the phone number is in China and I don't have international calling. So it seems like I'm screwed. Also one of the frames screws had already loosened up just as my friends had. Luckily I caught it before I lost the screw. He wasn't so lucky. Also the silent switch isn’t accessible with the case on. Hopefully the company will respond to this review and replace the item. But it seems like it needs some design fix and better quality control.

Works great and has lots of mounting points for accessories. It does make your phone considerably heavier but it also means it’s well built. I would definitely recommend this and will be buying another when I upgraded next time

My mistake I didn`t read properly, so i bought only the cage= frame, no handle or cold shoe like on the picture, frame only became useless.You have to buy handle like on the picture extra, cost you another $49, if you buy like another picture included the handle cost $67 the picture all black, so be carefull before you buy.
