The book might be fabulous but I sent it back on receipt - looks like it should be a lovely coffee table book full of info and pictures of the band - you will be sorely disappointed if this is what you expect as I did for over ยฃ27!!!! A real shame as it just looks so cheaply produced and small Icouldn't justify paying that much for it.

As a Clash fan and pop culture scholar, I'm disappointed in this book. It essentially gives a shortened version of the history that's already been committed to print, which I suppose could be appropriate for an introduction to the band. The result, however, is that nuance and context about the band, its members, and the songs are neglected, which would give those who truly are getting an introduction a skewed understanding of The Only Band That Mattered.
